The Grand Gedeh County Youth Development Association (GGCYDA), in partnership with V Publisher Incorporated, has launched a groundbreaking initiative to equip young people with essential computer skills.

Announced during the launch of the eighth batch of the Youth Empowerment Scholarship Program in Zwedru, the partnership aims to bridge Liberia’s digital divide by offering free, two-month computer training to young people. Participants only pay 3,000 Liberian dollars for a T-shirt, making the program widely accessible.

V Publisher CEO Tarr Nlmely stressed the urgency of digital literacy, stating, "Technology is shaping the world, and Liberian youth must not be left behind. This program is designed to prepare them for a tech-driven future."

GGCYDA Vice President Albertine Siah revealed that the association successfully negotiated additional training slots, ensuring more young people benefit. "Education is a right, not a privilege. This program is a game-changer for Grand Gedeh's youth," she emphasized.

Aligned with the Ministry of Education’s e-learning initiative, the program is expected to significantly boost digital skills among students and teachers. As enrollment for the eighth batch begins, both Siah and Nlmely expressed optimism that the initiative will empower young people to compete in today’s global economy.
