Monrovia – In a time of global health uncertainties, Festus McKeen, a dedicated health and human rights advocate, continues to push for equitable healthcare access in Liberia. As the Lead Advocate for Minority Voices Liberia, McKeen has been instrumental in advancing Liberia’s HIV response, even as the freeze of USAID funds threatens critical programs. His advocacy is rooted in a commitment to ensuring that key populations and vulnerable communities are not left behind in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Yes, Mr. Trump. The President of Liberia speaks English.

So do q***r Liberians. And they have a lot to say.
And thanks to Journal RAGE Liberia, the LGBTQ+ community in Liberia is finally being heard – in English, Bassa, Kru, and rainbow realness.

"Such good English... Where did you learn to speak so beautifully? Where were you educated." - President Trump

Yes, Mr. Trump. The President of Liberia speaks English.
So do q***r Liberians. And they have a lot to say.

And thanks to Journal RAGE Liberia, the LGBTQ+ community in Liberia is finally being heard – in English, Bassa, Kru, and rainbow realness.

But here's the problem:
Being out in Liberia isn't easy.
In fact, it's risky. It’s brave.
And speaking out takes not just English, but guts – and support.

That's where you come in.

JournalRage is Liberia’s only digital news platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of LGBTQ+ people – voices that are too often silenced, mocked, or pushed underground. Whether it's exposing abuse, celebrating q***r joy, or demanding change, JournalRage is out here doing the work, loud and proud.

And it’s powered by Out For Equality, because equality doesn’t happen by accident – it takes allies, advocacy, and… a little fundraising.

So if you're tired of outdated takes and presidents surprised by the concept of "African leaders speaking English,"
put your dollars where your values are.

For this brief moment I am anonymous, but still proud to be greater than the sum of my parts. I’m a gay, schizoaffective African man, and a firm believer that Pan-Africanist identity is not a monolith. I now live with intent and the understanding that I should only worry about the things I can control.

Sometimes I picture a different Liberia. One where q***r love isn’t whispered or hidden or exiled. A Liberia where two men can walk down Carey Street holding hands and no one bats an eye. Where kids grow up seeing reflections of themselves in love stories, not cautionary tales.

By Kumenjue Nimely I’ve lived and seen it all. The protests. The clandestine meetings. The joy of finding community, even if only in shadows. The heartbreak of betrayal. The sting […]

This is Liberia’s first major test as a member of the Security Council. And it’s about more than Iran, Israel, or the U.S. It’s about whether Liberia will act like a country with its mind and mission, or remain under the thumb of others, parroting policies that betray our principles.

Just weeks into Liberia’s historic tenure on the United Nations Security Council, the world finds itself staring into the abyss of yet another avoidable conflict. Less than a fortnight ago, […]

The Security Council is not typically the arena where LGBTQ+ rights are debated, but it is where international norms are tested and defined. When Liberia takes positions on conflicts that involve gender-based violence, authoritarian crackdowns, or displacement crises, its voting record and public statements will carry moral weight. Will Liberia speak up for vulnerable populations, or will it retreat into silence to avoid controversy?
