For the second consecutive year, Determine Girls Football Club has failed to capitalize on high-stakes financial incentives offered by their chief executive officer, Cassell Kuoh, during the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

In 2024, Kuoh pledged $10,000 for each win in the team’s final two matches of the qualifiers held in Sierra Leone. Needing just three points to advance, Determine Girls fell short, failing to secure a single victory and missing out on a potential $20,000 payout.

This year, the club was again offered a substantial reward: $7,500 for a win and an additional $500 for keeping a clean sheet in today's game. But the team was unable to deliver, suffering 3-0 defeat that left the promised bonuses unclaimed.

The back-to-back disappointments have raised questions about the team’s ability to perform under pressure, especially when lucrative incentives are on the line.

Despite their reputation as Liberia’s leading women’s football club, Determine Girls have struggled to convert opportunity into results on the continental stage.
