BEA MOUNTAIN’S ILLUTRIOUS HUMAN CAPACITY AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
--The Engine of Employees’ Development & Skills Enhancement
He sits in a very strategic seat at Bea Mountain Mining Corporation (BMMC). He ensures the capacities of local workers are adequately developed and/or improved to prepare them for the future opportunities even when the lifespan of BMMC shall have elapsed. He's Mr. Oliver Batekwa Gipli, BMMC's Human Resource Capacity and Development Manager.
He was born in Liberia's Capital, Monrovia. He grew up, attended and completed secondary education at St Mary's High school Duala. Thereafter, Mr. Gipli matriculated to the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University College where He graduated with honors (CUMLAUDE) in Business Management and Accounting.
MANAGER GIPLI is graciously married with two kids (boy & girl).
PROFESSIONALLY, Mr. Gipli has worked in both the public and private sectors and has held Senior Human Resource (HR) roles for over fifteen (15) years. He served as HR Manager at Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), United Bank for Africa (UBA), Oxfam GB, ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML), and Mary’s Meals Liberia.
FAST FORWARD, on February 28, 2023, Mr. Oliver Batekwa Gipli joined Bea Mountain Mining Corporation. However, His contract was formally consummated on 1 March 2023 as Human Resource Capacity and Development Manager, a role He has effectively upheld up to present.
Since joining BMMC, Manager Gipli has not only demonstrated proficiency in his role, but he has proven to be extremely versatile, resourceful, pioneering, knowledgeable and result-oriented evidenced by the rapid and increase in man-power development since he assumed the role. He has collaborated and continues to collaborate with department heads to ensure that local workers in the employ of BMMC are given first-hand cutting-edge and industrial trainings in line with their work descriptions.

HIS VISION FOR 2026 While it is a glaring fact that over one thousand six hundred local workers received training and got certificated between 2024 to January 2026, Manager Oliver Batekwa Gipli has vowed to influence the training of more local workers between February to December of this year. He believes investing in human capacity development will not only boost efficiency at the workplace, but it will also boost the economy of the Country.
“My major concerns for this year, 2026 are to ensure that continuous training is provided for all local employees across all BMMC’s operational sites. Besides, I will also ensure workplace harmony by engaging with the MOTHER UNION & the LOCAL WORKERS’ UNION on employees’ welfare and development and I believe collaboratively, we can achieve more.” Manager Gipli
MANAGER OLIVER B. GIPLI’S ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads Human Resources Development at all BMMC operational sites
Contributes to the setting of strategic direction with emphasis on employee development, talent management, localization, and succession planning, to ensure the needs of BMMC employees and other stakeholders are met.
Works in collaboration with Senior Management Team, stakeholders and Human Resource team colleagues to shape, develop and deliver the people strategy in line with the needs of the Corporation.
Operates as a resilient HR professional, applying strong communication and influencing skills to provide high-level HR support across all departments.
An emphasis of the role is to ensure robust systems, processes and controls are in place.
Takes responsibility for the creation, maintenance, and effective HR Management activities to ensure appropriate employee relations actions, employee development, documentation recruitment, selection and promotion.
