FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Representative DJ and "Gaza Brigades" Condemned for Violent Assault on peaceful students protesters in District 17

District 17 – May 26, 2026

Representative DJ has crossed a dangerous and unforgivable line. By allegedly dancing with, marching with, mobilizing and unleashing the "Gaza Brigades" against peaceful student holding placards for educational benefits, public library in District 17, he has chosen intimidation, brutality, and political violence over accountability and democratic engagement.

Students gathered peacefully to demand educational benefits and opportunities that rightfully belong to them. Instead of receiving answers, they were met with coordinated attacks, physical assaults, threats, and repression carried out by individuals acting under political protection. What occurred was not an accident, nor a spontaneous disturbance. It was a deliberate attempt to silence young voices through fear and violence.

The deployment of the "Gaza Brigades" as a political enforcement force against unarmed civilians represents a direct assault on democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. No elected official has the authority to answer legitimate public grievances with violence. Any public servant who weaponizes fear against constituents abandons the moral and legal legitimacy of public office.

We therefore demand the following actions without delay:

1. The immediate disbandment of the Gaza Brigades and a permanent prohibition on all of their activities within District 17.

2. A full, transparent, and independent investigation into all reported assaults, arrests, intimidation, and injuries connected to these attacks

3. The immediate and unconditional release of all students and civilians detained for exercising their constitutional right to peaceful protest.

4. Concrete and enforceable guarantees protecting students, youth activists, and residents from future political retaliation, harassment, or violence.

The people of District 17 will not be intimidated into silence. The students will not abandon their demands for justice and opportunity. And those responsible for these acts must understand that power does not place anyone above accountability.

History will remember who stood with the students — and who chose violence against them.

Thank you!

Just in:

Allegations of nepotism are once again making headlines under the JNB administration, as publicly available records appear to confirm family ties between two high-profile government officials.

Madam Joana D. Joekai, identified by the John F. Kennedy Medical Center as its Nursing Director, is reportedly married to Dr. Josiah F. Joekai Jr., the current Director-General of the Civil Service Agency.

The Civil Service Agency’s official profile on Dr. Joekai clearly states that he is “happily married to Mrs. Joana D. Joekai,” confirming the relationship.

The disclosure has sparked criticism from some Liberians, who argue that relatives of top officials continue to hold influential government positions, raising concerns about transparency, favoritism, and accountability within the Boakai-led government.

CDC Faces Leadership Shakeup in Lofa County as Multiple Officials Resign

By Journalist Emmanuel Thomas Jr.

The opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) is facing a significant internal challenge in Lofa County after several senior party officials announced their resignation this week. The wave of departures has exposed visible cracks within the county’s leadership structure, raising questions about the party’s cohesion ahead of upcoming political activities.

Among those who stepped down is a key figure whose exit has sparked debate over the party’s future strength in the region. Political observers note that Lofa County has long been a contested area, and the loss of experienced officials could affect the CDC’s mobilization and grassroots presence there.

In response, the CDC leadership addressed the media to comment on the resignations and to outline the party’s position on the matter. Officials stressed that the party remains committed to its objectives and downplayed suggestions of a broader crisis.

The development has fueled public discussion on whether these resignations will weaken the CDC’s standing in Lofa County, or if the party can regroup and maintain its influence.

What do you think? Does Fallah’s exit, and the others who followed, diminish the party’s strength in Lofa? Share your view below.

"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Unity Party welcomes the establishment of NIMBO and commends Hon. Thomas P. Fallah for his unconflicted confidence in President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.

Monrovia, Liberia – May 25, 2026: The Unity Party extends profound appreciation and commendation to the Vision Bearer and Founder of the National Independent Movement for Boakai, (NIMBO), Hon. Thomas Fallah, Deputy Speaker of the 55th Legislature of the Republic of Liberia, for the official groundbreaking ceremony of the NIMBO National Headquarters held on May 24, 2026, along the Tubman Boulevard in Monrovia.

The colorful and well-attended occasion, which brought together thousands of enthusiastic supporters and citizens, was graced by the presence of the President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., along with senior officials of the Unity Party including the National Chairman and the National Secretary General. The massive turnout and level of organization demonstrated the growing national support for the Rescue Mission and the developmental agenda of President Boakai.

We particularly commend Hon. Thomas P. Fallah for his statesmanship, courage, and explicit confidence reposed in the leadership of our Standard Bearer and President of the Republic of Liberia. His decision to establish NIMBO reflects a strong belief in the President’s vision for economic recovery, infrastructure development, rule of law, transparency, and inclusive governance.

At a time when Liberia is undergoing critical national transformation, the Unity Party believes that collaboration among patriotic Liberians and progressive institutions remains essential in consolidating peace, stability, and sustainable development across the country.

The Unity Party assures Hon. Fallah and the leadership of NIMBO of our readiness to work collectively in promoting the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) and ensuring that the hopes and aspirations of the Liberian people are fulfilled."

Mayor Jefferson Koijee ✍️ 👇

"Here stands the official vehicle of the untouchable sacred cow of the Boakai and Koung regime, Francis Sakila Nyumalin, the very man linked to the gruesome killing of an innocent little girl filled with untapped dreams, brilliance, and limitless potential. Earlier today, I posted the heartbreaking video. Now, these are the horrifying images from the fatal scene itself.

Yet while an innocent child’s blood cries for justice, the regime remains silent, frozen by fear and political compromise. Why? Because this same Francis Sakila Nyumalin has repeatedly and publicly boasted that he is the sole custodian of Mr Boakai’s most victorious and hidden secrets. Meanwhile, the poor family of the little girl in Lofa, particularly in Foya, are reportedly being intimidated and pressured not to go public about this tragedy.

In every broken society, there are men who place themselves above the law, believing power can bury truth and influence can silence justice. But history has never been kind to those who dance on the graves of the innocent. A nation that protects the powerful while abandoning the weak is not merely politically broken, it is morally bankrupt.

The blood of the innocent never sleeps. Justice delayed is never justice denied forever.
