In a statement released by the LIS, the Administration reminded officers that engaging in political discussions, campaigns, or affiliations is strictly prohibited under the LIS Act of 2016 and the institution's Code of Conduct.
The law requires immigration officers to remain impartial, disciplined, and non-partisan while carrying out their duties.
The LIS says maintaining public trust and unity within the service depends on officers upholding the highest ethical standards and avoiding actions that could suggest political bias or division.
Officers found in violation of this directive could face serious disciplinary action — including suspension or dismissal — in line with the LIS Act, the Code of Conduct, and Civil Service regulations.
