Regional Update:

Following strong negotiations, the US has now reversed its visa policy on Ghana where Ghanaians can now get a five year multiple entry visa, according to Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

This is what he wrote:

Big win for Ghana!

The US visa restrictions imposed on Ghana has been reversed.

Ghanaians can now be eligible for five-year multiple entry visas and other enhanced consular privileges.

This good news was directly communicated to me by US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Allison Ho**er at a bilateral meeting earlier today, in the margins of the UN General Assembly.

I am really pleased that months of high-level diplomatic negotiations has led to a successful outcome.

It will be recalled that the US imposed visa restrictions on Ghana and other countries in July this year. The affected countries were slapped with a maximum three-month single entry visas and other limitations. In the specific case of Ghana, the Trump Administration said they were reacting to many years of visa overstays mainly by students.

It’s good to see healthier and stronger Ghana 🇬🇭 USA 🇺🇸 relations.

🕰️ When power forgets to pass the baton…

Kamuzu Banda ruled Malawi until 96. Robert Mugabe until 93. Today, Emmerson Mnangagwa is 87 (or 83 by football age), and Peter Mutharika is 85.

Southern Africa has long been led by men in advanced old age guardians of liberation, yes, but also gatekeepers of renewal. While the continent’s youth rise with fresh ideas, too often power remains locked in the past.

We honour the struggle. We honour the legacy. But we must also ask: When does reverence become resistance to change?

Africa is young. Africa is urgent. Africa is ready.

It’s time to make space for new voices, new visions, and leadership that reflects the heartbeat of our people.

Liberia Betrays Africa’s Geopolitical Interest on Palestine, cowardly abstained on September 13, 2025 to join 142 nations, including Ghana 🇬🇭, Ivory Coast 🇨🇮, and Sierra Leone 🇸🇱, to vote for UN resolution acknowledging a Palestinian state.

LIberia’s action undermined Pan-African stands on Africa’s geopolitical Interests on the call for a Palestinian statehood, especially a two-state solution in the Israel-Palestine conflict. This move draws a sharp deviation in President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr address to the 80th UNGA debate, where he restated Liberia’s traditional position on the matter. All talk, no will, no leadership.

UN News, New York - At the 80th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 80) in September 2025, Liberia abstained from voting on a resolution to endorse the New York Declaration, a document calling for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Breaking News: Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Dionaye Faye has introduced mandatory e-visa payments for travelers from the U.S., UK, France, China, and other non-African countries as part of major immigration reforms.
The new policy aims to streamline entry procedures while generating revenue and strengthening border control. African travelers remain exempt from the charges.

Ghana Presido and Point One John Mahama directly challenges Nnanyi Dede Trump in the just concluded United Nations 80th Conference.

In his words:

“Immigrants deserve respect, not hatred or cruelty, as African immigrants have made significant contributions to global societies and do not pose a threat.

If countries seek to enact laws to reduce African migration, they should also implement policies to address the exploitation of Africa’s raw materials by Western nations.

No parent would risk their child’s life on a perilous boat journey unless the river represents a safer haven than the conditions they are fleeing.”

🔴 JUST IN

Burkina Faso military president Captain Ibrahim Traore 🗣: I don't want to be remembered as a president who takes pictures with the poor during campaign seasons by buying roadside corns or wearing primary school uniforms or even pretending to drink garri with the poor just to get their sympathy votes...

I want the people of Burkina Faso to feel real governance in my lifetime by providing the basic things life can offer..

My mission is to get Africa up from nowhere to somewhere and together, I'm very sure we are going to make that happen...

UNITY IS STRENGTH. ONE AFRICA, ONE PEOPLE
