AgroTech intends to improve the Agriculture Sector through her upcoming initiative, ICT for Agriculture Boot Camp.

Highlighting that Technology and Agriculture are two relevant sectors, and considering the potential of ICT in problems solving; AgroTech has designed the ICT for Agriculture Boot Camp to bring together young ICT innovators with agriculture students and farmers to identify and develop solution driven ideas that can be used as business ideas for ICT services in the agriculture value chain.

This boot camp is intended to serve as a podium to expose to farmers, modern ICT technologies and services that can be integrated in the farming system to enhance productivity, income and reduce excess labor activity. With interest in technology or agriculture, this is a perfect opportunity to leverage.

The initiative is a three day incubation, policy discussion and solution development to enhance agriculture development and increase the knowledge and us of ICT in agriculture activity around Liberia.

The Boot Camp is planned for March 26-28, 2020 at the Coinsville Hotel, VOA Community, Paynesville.

For a while now, people have found it challenging in Liberia to repair their broken electronic devices. There are not many reliable tech repairing stores in the country, and it's difficult for some to find people who are capable of handling their tech-related problems.

Others, have a hard time in trusting street repairers with their devices, while the rest are just busy to even go out and get their devices repaired.

This has led to the fustration of many people who own electronic items. Their devices has either been damaged, stolen or lying abadoned somewhere.

Inorder to solve this problem, TechSol launched its Virtual Assistant Service on September 29 of 2019, as a way to provide convenience and ease of professional access for people seeking to repair their electronic devices.

HOW COOKSHOP.BIZ USES TECHNOLOGY TO REVOLUTIONIZE FOOD DELIVERY IN LIBERIA.

Techsol is gradually building the next generation of tech leaders and change makers…

Through her meet-up platform (Monrovia Meetup), Techsol which is a Liberian ICT Innovation Startup company continues to inspire and build the minds of technologist.

Monrovia Meetup is an event created by Techsol. It is held every month to help tech startups, enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, practitioners, students, etc. by bringing together stakeholders in the Liberian tech industry to share experiences with fellow upcoming developers and inspire their passion for technology.

Enthusiastic young developers who attend Monrovia Meetup are introduced to software tools, concepts, designs through forums and talks.

With lot of tech events been hosted every month, Techsol recently hosted another inspiring and educative event, that provided two hours of intensive training on COMPUTER PROGRAMMING with PYTHON.

Participants learnt the basics of Computer Programming using Python. They also learnt the fundamental of Python with a specific focus on frameworks that can be used to develop a web application. They gain exposure to software packages and APIs that will lead to the development of a full web App.

The event was held at Orange Liberia head office, Bye-pass and the event was proudly sponsored by Orange Liberia.

Techsol believes that establishing forums for emerging developer to meet the right people and the right tools will foster their growth and make them industry ready professionals.

From past meet-ups, approximately 300 developers has benefited from the different categories of tech training. TechSol continue to arrange more events.

More than a School Management System, Touch Technology has created an App that builds a better relationship among Parents, Students, and the School System in Liberia.

Over the years, parents has found it difficult to keep track of their child’s or children’s progress. Some has very busy schedules, others live in faraway lands. Whatever the situation, it is challenging for some parents to monitor their child’s or children’s behavior and performance in school.

Touch Technology, which is a Liberian owned technology firm decided to bridge this gap by developing this App that keeps parents up to date with the school’s activities. School Web (www.schoolweb.in) was then built as a solution to that problem.

Taking into consideration the current internet difficulty in Liberia, School Web was built to function both online and offline in order to provide convenience for parents, students and schools who find it challenging to get internet access.

Communication between the school’s administration and the parents is essential because it improves academic performance in children and provides a great feeling of community. To reach all the parents at once, schools usually sent out printed messages by students which cost a lot and also stands the risk of not being delivered.

Another option is to call a PTA meeting which some parents might not attend due to other circumstances. School Web makes communication between the school system and parents cheaper, guaranteed and accessible. Parents receive communications from the schools via text message in real time.

Kwagei Group in collaboration with iCampus runs a highly intensive ICT paid training program that offers skills in

Kpetermeni Siakor who is the Founder & CEO of Kwagei Group is an experienced technologist, entrepreneur and teacher. He has worked with notable brands like World Bank/PFMU, The African Leadership University(South Africa), iLab Liberia, Orange and so on.

As the trainer of the Innovators Program, Kpetermini urges students and professionals to use this training as an opportunity to upgrade their technological knowledge.
