Headline: Assets Recovery Taskforce Seizes Vehicles Owned by Former Police IG Sudue and Ex-President Weah's Chief of Protocol Bundoo

Date: March 27, 2024

The Assets Recovery Taskforce of Liberia has taken possession of a number of vehicles belonging to former Police Inspector General (IG) Patrick Sudue and Finda Bundoo, the Chief of Protocol for former President George Weah. The impounded vehicles include several yellow vehicles associated with Madam Finda Bundoo, labeled as "gracious."

One particular vehicle, a black-colored car, has been linked to Patrick Sudue. According to information provided to the task force, the vehicle was acquired from Sudue by the General Services Agency (GSA) for a reported sum of $5,000 USD.

The Assets Recovery Taskforce, established to combat corruption and recover assets acquired through illegal means, has been actively pursuing investigations into the financial activities of former government officials. The seizure of these vehicles is part of their ongoing efforts to recover assets allegedly obtained unlawfully.

The yellow vehicles, reportedly owned by Finda Bundoo, have been marked with the label "gracious," indicating a potential misuse of state resources. The exact number of impounded vehicles and their specific models have not been disclosed by the task force at this time.

News Update: Liberia's Draft 2024 Budget Prioritizes Education, Healthcare, and Agriculture**

In a significant move aimed at promoting development and efficiency, the Ministry of Finance under President Boakai has submitted the FY-Draft 2024 budget to the Legislature, outlining notable reductions and increases in various sectors. The proposed budget demonstrates a strategic reallocation of resources to prioritize key areas such as education, healthcare, and agriculture, while implementing cost-saving measures in administrative and legislative functions.

The following reductions have been proposed:

1. Ministry of State: The budget for the Ministry of State has been reduced from $20 million to $9 million, indicating a substantial decrease in funding for its operations.

2. Office of the President: The budget allocated to the Office of the President has been reduced from $4.4 million to $2.2 million, indicating a significant downsizing of the presidential office's financial resources.

3. Vice President: Similarly, the budget for the Vice President's office has been reduced from $4 million to $2 million, reflecting a substantial cut in funding.

4. Legislature: The budget for the Legislature has been reduced from $67 million to $38 million, signifying a considerable decrease in financial resources allocated to the legislative functions.

5. Pro Temp's Budget: The budget for the Pro Tempore of the Legislature, a prominent position, has been reduced from $4 million to $1.2 million, indicating a significant decrease in funding for this role.

6. Speaker's Budget: The budget for the Speaker of the Legislature has been reduced from $2.2 million to $1.6 million, reflecting a notable decrease in financial resources allocated to the Speaker's office.

7. Deputy Speaker's Budget: The budget for the Deputy Speaker of the Legislature has been reduced from $1 million to a little over $515,000, indicating a significant cut in funding for this position.

Conversely, the following increases have been proposed:

1. Ministry of Education: The budget for the Ministry of Education has been increased from $98 million to $105 million, demonstrating a commitment to prioritize investments in the education sector.

2. University of Liberia (UL): The budget for the University of Liberia has been increased from $30 million to $32 million, indicating enhanced financial support for higher education in the country.

3. Agriculture Sector: The budget for the agriculture sector has been increased from $4 million to $5 million, reflecting an effort to boost agricultural activities and enhance food security.

4. Health Sector: The budget for the health sector has been increased from $64 million to $75 million, highlighting a focus on improving healthcare services and infrastructure.

These adjustments in the proposed budget underscore the government's commitment to channeling resources towards priority areas, such as education, healthcare, and agriculture. By reducing funding in administrative and legislative functions, the government aims to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and ensure that resources are directed to sectors crucial for national development.

It is important to note that the proposed budget is subject to review and approval by the Legislature before it can be implemented. The government will engage in deliberations and consultations with lawmakers to ensure the final budget aligns with the nation's needs and aspirations.

Quick Update on
submarine Cable Under Sea.
03/15/24

A submarine cable, also known as an undersea cable or submarine communications cable, is a cable laid on the ocean floor between land-based stations to transmit telecommunication signals across bodies of water.

These cables are specifically designed for underwater environments and are used to establish reliable and high-capacity communication links between continents or islands.

Submarine cables play a crucial role in international telecommunications and are responsible for carrying the vast majority of global internet traffic, including voice calls, data transmission, and internet connectivity. They enable international phone calls, video conferencing, internet browsing, and the transfer of large amounts of data between countries.

Here's a brief overview of how submarine cables work:

1. Cable Construction: Submarine cables are constructed using multiple layers of protective materials. The core of the cable consists of several pairs or bundles of optical fibers, which are thin strands of glass or plastic that carry data as pulses of light. The fibers are surrounded by insulation and protective layers, including steel or aluminum wires, plastic coatings, and waterproof materials.

2. Cable Laying: The cable is laid on the ocean floor using specialized ships called cable-laying vessels. The vessel carries the cable and uses a plow or remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to bury it beneath the seabed in shallow waters. In deeper parts of the ocean, the cable is often left on the ocean floor.

3. Land-Based Stations: Submarine cables connect to land-based stations located on the coastlines of different countries. These stations house the terminal equipment that allows the cable to connect to the terrestrial telecommunication networks. The stations also include repeaters, which amplify and regenerate the signals transmitted through the cable to maintain signal quality over long distances.

4. Data Transmission: Once the submarine cable is operational, it carries data signals in the form of light pulses. Data is converted into light signals at one end of the cable, transmitted through the optical fibers, and then converted back into electrical signals at the receiving end. The high bandwidth of optical fibers allows for the transmission of large amounts of data over long distances with minimal signal degradation.

Submarine cables are essential for global communication and serve as the backbone of international connectivity. They offer high-speed, low-latency, and reliable data transmission, making them the primary means of intercontinental communication.

Tragedy Strikes as School and Worship Center Engulfed in Flames

Sinkor, March 4, 2024 - In a devastating incident that unfolded along Tubman Boulevard, a school and a worship center fell victim to a raging fire on Monday. The Apostolic Foundation High School and the Fire for Fire International Ministries were reduced to ashes during the early afternoon hours, leaving behind a scene of devastation.

According to eyewitnesses present at the time, the fire erupted while hundreds of students were attending classes, creating a state of panic and chaos among them. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but some individuals on the scene have raised concerns about the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), citing the company's involvement in previous fire disasters.

Authorities swiftly responded to the emergency, dispatching fire brigades and rescue teams to the location. Firefighters battled the inferno for hours, working diligently to bring the flames under control and prevent further spread to adjacent structures. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported thus far, and all students and staff were successfully evacuated from the premises.

The Apostolic Foundation High School, known for its commitment to academic excellence, has served as a pillar of education in the community for many years. The loss of its facilities and resources has deeply impacted the students, teachers, and the surrounding community.

The Fire for Fire International Ministries, a place of worship and spiritual solace for many, has also suffered irreparable damage. Congregants who regularly gathered at the center are left devastated and uncertain about the future of their religious activities.

As investigations into the cause of the fire commence, concerned citizens are urging the relevant authorities to thoroughly examine the possible role of the Liberia Electricity Corporation in this incident. The occurrence of multiple fire disasters in recent times has raised questions about the safety and reliability of the electrical infrastructure.

Community leaders and organizations have come forward to offer support and assistance to those affected by the tragedy. Efforts are underway to provide temporary accommodations for the displaced students and to help the worship center rebuild and continue its mission.

This devastating incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the need for a comprehensive review of electrical systems within the community. As the investigation unfolds, the affected individuals and the wider public remain hopeful for answers and a swift recovery from this distressing event.

UL Begins Payment of Part-Time Instructors, Prepares for the Resumption of Classes

UL Capitol Hill Campus, Monroviaโ€”February 18, 2024: The Administration of the University of Liberia (UL) announces that it will begin paying its part-time instructors this week after successfully resolving outstanding issues, including funding, to begin the new semester.

PROPHET KEY OFFER PRAYER AT PYJ CHURCH ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ

As the congregation gathered for the service, anticipation filled the air.

The Prophetic Key, known for his powerful prayers and spiritual insights, made his way to the pulpit.
With a humble demeanor, he took his place in the seats reserved for visiting pastors, ready to offer his prayer to the congregation.

As the Prophetic Key approached the pulpit, he noticed a peculiar sight. A cow tail had been placed on the pulpit, seemingly waiting for someone to come and rest their Bible upon it.

The significance of this unusual arrangement intrigued him, and he paused for a moment, seeking divine guidance.

Recognizing that the cow tail held a symbolic meaning, the Prophetic Key understood that it represented strength, resilience, and sustenance.

In some cultures, the cow tail is seen as a symbol of provision and abundance. With this understanding, the Prophetic Key realized the prophetic message that lay within this unexpected sight.

With reverence and understanding, the Prophetic Key stepped forward and took hold of the cow tail.

As he raised it in his hands, he began to pray. His prayer encompassed the themes of strength, provision, and sustenance. He prayed for the congregation, asking for divine strength to overcome challenges, abundant blessings to meet their needs, and the sustenance to grow in faith and wisdom.

The Prophetic Key's prayer resonated deeply with the congregation.

His words carried a prophetic anointing, touching the hearts and spirits of those present. As he concluded his prayer, he gently placed the cow tail back on the pulpit, acknowledging the symbolic significance it held.

The presence of the cow tail on the pulpit served as a reminder to all those in attendance, including Senator Pastor Prince Johnson, of the divine provision and strength available to them.

It encouraged them to place their trust in the Higher Power and seek sustenance from the source of all blessings.

In this moment, the Prophetic Key had not only fulfilled his role as a prayerful intercessor but also delivered a profound message through the unexpected presence of the cow tail. The congregation left the service with a renewed sense of faith, hope, and anticipation for the abundant blessings that awaited them.
