LFA President Engages Media, Announces League Prize Increases

The President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Mr. Mustapha I. Raji, on August 12, 2025,held a day-long media engagement with accredited sports journalists at the LFA headquarters in Congo.

During the meeting, President Raji highlighted infrastructure developments achieved under the FIFA Forward program, along with other related matters.

He announced significant increases in prize money for the upcoming league season — a 50% increase in the Men’s First Division League and a 25% increase in the Women’s Upper League. This means the First Division League champions will receive USD 30,000, while the Women’s Upper League champions will walk away with USD 25,000.

Raji also revealed that the number of teams in the Men’s First Division League has been expanded from 14 to 16 for this season. Meanwhile, the total number of teams competing in the Beach Soccer League will remain at 10.

Nimba to Host 39th SWAL Anniversary – Tokpah Appointed Committee Chair

The leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) has announced Ganta, Nimba County, as the host city for the Association’s 39th Anniversary celebrations.

To ensure the successful planning and ex*****on of this year’s event, SWAL has appointed Mr. Nathaniel S. Tokpah, Chairman of the Nimba County Chapter of SWAL, as Chairman of the Steering Committee. He will be deputized by seasoned journalist Mr. Nyah Flomo, Jr., while Mr. Jerome Saye will serve as Secretary General.

Other members of the committee include veteran journalist Christopher Fahn, Jerry T. Myers, Joekai G. Yango (Margibi County Coordinator), and Freddie Gayflor (B**g County Coordinator).

The committee has been mandated to coordinate all activities leading to the celebration of the 39th Anniversary in close consultation with the SWAL leadership from now until the end of September 2025.

SWAL is calling on all members, sports stakeholders, and supporters, especially those in Nimba County and across Liberia to rally behind the committee to ensure a successful anniversary celebration.

Sports Journalist Godfred Bondo write ✍️.

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has officially certified three clubs to compete in the prestigious CAF inter-club competitions.

The clubs, namely FC Fassel, Black Man Worries, and Determine Girls, have successfully met the enhanced minimum requirements set forth on the CAF online platform, as confirmed by the Board, led by Cllr. Jacob K. Dayrell, Sr.

FC Fassel will proudly represent Liberia in the CAF Champions League, following their outstanding performance as champions of the LFA First Division League. Meanwhile, Black Man Worries is set to showcase their skills in the CAF Confederation Cup, having secured their spot as winners of the LFA Orange Cup. Additionally, Determine Girls, crowned champions of the LFA’s upper women’s league, will also compete in the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

The national Third Division playoffs have reached an exciting stage with four teams fiercely competing for a coveted spot in the Second Division.

Today, Susa FC will take on Wein Town of Margibi, while Golden Dream and Paris FC are fully prepared for their showdown at the prestigious Albert T. White Sports Pitch in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.

Both teams are highly motivated to claim victory and secure their advancement to the Second Division.

Reports indicate that only three teams will be promoted to the Second Division, determined by their outstanding performances throughout the playoffs.

The National Third Division playoffs are heating up, and both teams are eyeing the next stage with determination.

Recent performances have set the stage for an intense showdown in the second leg of the quarter-finals, where either team has what it takes to claim victory.

Phebe Athletic FC from (B**g) saw their lead slip away as Wein Town from (Margibi) staged a remarkable comeback, securing a 2-2 draw at the Albert T. White Sports Stadium. 🏟️

Meanwhile, in the first half of the second match, Todd FC from (Montserrado) is facing a challenge, currently down 1-0 against Paris FC from (Grand Gedeh), but there's still plenty of football left to play.

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) conducts its final draw for the National 2025 Playoffs round that was announced Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the Headquarters.

The draw that was held counts out four zones that is expected to be another exciting edition of this year's competition.
The competition is set for the 23rd, May - July 1, 2025.

From the playoffs results, it will determine which teams advance to the 2025-26 LFA Second Division League.
