Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has backed the military after soldiers were killed in the Okuama and Okoloba communities in Delta. The attack on Sunday led to the deaths of four officers, 12 soldiers, and one civilian. Consequently, military operations have been intensified in areas suspected of sheltering the perpetrators, prompting women and children to seek refuge elsewhere. Human rights activists and legal experts have, however, called for an immediate cessation of retaliatory violence.
