Domestic Violence:
Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one person to gain or maintain power and control over another person. It can occur in heteros*xual or same-s*x relationships and affects people regardless of age, race, gender, religion, or socioeconomic status.
It includes:
Physical abuse – hitting, slapping, choking, or any form of physical harm
Emotional or psychological abuse – threats, intimidation, manipulation, or humiliation
Sexual abuse – forcing a partner to engage in a s*x act without consent
Financial abuse – controlling or limiting access to financial resources
Verbal abuse – constant criticism, yelling, or belittling

Why Does Domestic Violence Happen in Society Today?
1. Power and Control:
At the core of most domestic violence is the abuser’s desire to dominate their partner. It’s about control—not love, passion, or anger.
2. Social and Cultural Norms:
In some communities, traditional gender roles and patriarchal beliefs still place men in dominant positions and women in submissive roles, justifying control or abuse as “normal.”
3. Learned Behavior and Generational Cycles:
Many abusers witnessed violence in their own families growing up and continue the cycle because they believe it’s acceptable or "just the way relationships work."
4. Lack of Awareness and Education:
In some cases, both victims and perpetrators don’t fully recognize abusive behavior, especially emotional or psychological abuse, as a serious issue.
5. Weak Legal Systems and Limited Support:
In many societies, victims lack access to legal protection or safe resources like shelters and support services. Fear of not being believed or supported keeps many silent.
6. Economic Dependence:
Financial control keeps victims trapped. If someone cannot afford to leave, they may stay in an abusive relationship out of necessity.
7. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Issues:
Drugs or alcohol can intensify
