Rep. Albert Hills Jr Re-election In Limbo

----- As Citizens Threatens To Unseat Him Comes 2023

By: West Coast TV Liberia πŸ‡±πŸ‡· Bong County Contributor

Kpaai District #1, Bong Co. β€” Representative Albert Hills Jr reign as lawmaker of Bong's electoral district #1, it appears the lawmaker chance of living up to his campaign promises is gradually depleting as citizens continue to intensify threats to unseat him comes 2023.

Speaking to reporters recently in Kpaai electoral district #1, Duta Town, youth president emeritus Sunday S. Dolokelen said Representative Albert Hills has failed to address major problems affecting them as youths and inhibitants of Kpaai, electoral district #1.

Dolokelen narrated that since September 18, 2021 Rep. Hills assured youths of Duta Town over the completion of their youth center but up tilt now he is yet to complete the youth center and it is currently at stand still.

The citizens threats have been backed by the failure of the lawmaker in the execution of his three cardinal responsibilities which include representation, lawmaking and oversight counting that he hasn't invested and proferred the developmental agenda of the district over the years.

Flagging out the interest of the people in Duta Town, Kpaai electoral district #1 the out-going youth president Sunday S. Dolokelen explains that during the peak of the 2017 general and presidential elections Rep. Hills cajole citizens of the district by reducing the prices of essential commodities as means of improving the living standards of citizens of the district but since he became Representative of the district he ordered all of his shops closed;

Something according to him have led to the massive increase of rice and other essential commodities in parts of the district.

Sunday S. Dolokelen said, the administration of Rep. Hills has served as serious embarrassment to citizens of the district on grounds that he (Rep. Hills) lacks the qualities of a lawmaker and he has decimally represented them in all dimensions including representation, lawmaking and oversight.

"Currently it feels as if we don't have a lawmaker in the House of Legislature because our current lawmaker absence and presence has been the same; under his watch things have changed from bad to worse in our district" Dolokelen stated.

Dolokelen narrated that Rep. Hills in his campaign message during 2017 promised to make available 50% of his salary to his constituency to ensure a equitable distribution of the district's wealth and breach the gap between he and his people but such promise is yet to be fulfilled.

Rep. Hills abandonment and under representation of the district have been voiced out by bulk of the citizenry and some local leaders including Mr. Moses Kollie the general town chief of Weatouh Clan.

According to chief Moses Kollie, for the past years he has confronted and placed several phone calls to Rep. Hills to assist members of his clan with hand pumps for safe drinking water purpose but he (Hills) has reportedly refused to hearken to his calls which he believes is unprecedented.

"Sometimes I wonder why Rep. Hills is handling the district and its people in such manner but one thing I know the masses will make their choice comes 2023; as for me I am not really involved into Politics" Chief Moses Kollie averred.

Sadly, Duta Town, which contains approximately 2,500 citizens currently survive from a single hand pump, while two of the three (3) hand pumps have collapse, such thing that have led a huge number of the town's populace to drink from unsafe running water screams from their respective farms.

Meanwhile, from the look of things it seems Emeritus youth president Sunday S. Dolokelen and general town chief Moses Kollie were not the only people who strongly spoke against the ills of Rep. Hills;

Vincent Lablah, who is the newly elected youth president of Duta Town, Kpaai district #1, consented with the two local leaders assertions and described Rep. Hills leadership as a vacuum and says the youthful populace in the district have resolved to kick Rep. Hills out of the district's highest political seat comes 2023.

LATE PRINCESS FAMILY AGREES TO CONDUCT OF NEW AUTOPSY
-Will Provide Name of Pathologist

April 19,2022

The Government of Liberia, through the Minister of Justice, has held a meeting with the family of the late Princess Cooper at the Ministry of Justice in Monrovia. The meeting was pursuant to the President's directive to the Attorney General to ensure the conduct of a second autopsy on the remains of the late Ms. Cooper, who died on March 24, 2022.

The second autopsy is to be conducted by a pathologist designated by the family.

During the meeting, the family promised to suggest a name of a pathologist of their choice to the Government through the Justice Ministry within next 48 hours.

According to a GOL Release, the late Princess Cooper's parents, Nelson and Jartu Cooper were in attendance, as well as her brother who served as the spokesperson for the family Dr. Abel N. Momo. Others who attended Tuesday's meeting included Cllr Tiawon Gongloe, former President of the Liberian National Bar Association, Bishop Kortu Brown President of the Liberia Council of Churches, and Secretary-General Rev. Christopher Wleh Toe also of the Liberia Council of Churches.

President George M. Weah on Monday called on the Attorney General Cllr F. Musah Dean to avail the remains of the late Princess Cooper for the conduct of a second autopsy, after the family and some Liberians expressed doubts about the results of the autopsy report presented by the Liberian Government through Pathologists Benedict Kolee and Zoeborn Karteh.

While expressing his profound sympathy to the bereaved families of Princess Cooper and Melvin Togba, President Weah asked that Princess' family take advantage of the opportunity in the soonest possible time. He directed that the cost of the second autopsy be covered by the Government of Liberia.

Meanwhile, in a separate meeting with the family of the late Melvin Togba, the Justice Minister directed the release of the remains of Melvin to the family for burial.

President Weah suspends National Bureau of Concessions Boss

President George Weah has warned all public officials to immediately refrain from exercising any powers, functions, and duties assigned to the President of Liberia and to act within the confines of their authorities.

President Weah sounded the warning on Monday, April 18, 2022, when he voided the termination letter of the Deputy Director-General of the National Bureau of Concessions, Nathaniel Bracewell.

The Liberian Leader described the action by the Director-General of the National Bureau of Concessions, Mr. Edwin N. Dennis to terminate the services of Mr. Bracewell as arbitrary and without due regard to the Office of the President. The President termed the dismissal as null and void.

Consequently, President Weah has suspended Mr. Edwin N. Dennis. The suspended Director-General is asked to immediately report to the Office of the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs.

In the absence of Mr. Dennis, the Deputy Director-General for Administration will act as Head of the National Bureau of Concessions.

The Montserrado Children's Forum meets the Assistant Minister of Student Personal Services at the Ministry of Education. Today, the Montserrado Children's Forum met Hon. Garnier Marwolo B**golee, Assistant Minister of Student Personal Services at the Ministry of Education as a way of negotiation for the purpose of including the Children's Law into highschools' curricula. According to the Assistant Minister, the inclusion of the Children's Law into the primary and secondary curriculum is difficult, yet not impossible. Hon. Garnier M. B**golee also gave some compulsory requirements that guarantee the significance of such doing. Requirements: (1)The Children's Law will have to be transformed to a lesson for the purpose of being subjected to learning. (2)The Children's Law will require more copies for the purpose of being freely distributed, maybe. (3)Instructors for such lesson will have to be self trained etc. It was great conversing with the Assistant Minister; from his elaboration, we were able to determine how lengthy the process is.
Spoon has been a very great help to the people of Liberia. Thanks a lot.
