President Boakai Suspends Food Authority Director General Cherue , Appoints Acting Head
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has suspended Ms. Precellia Cherue, Director General of the Food Authority of Liberia, from office without pay, with immediate effect, following complaints alleging gross administrative malfeasance.
Ms. Cherue will remain suspended pending the outcome of a comprehensive investigation by a special panel headed by the Legal Advisor to the President.
Meanwhile, the President has appointed Honorable Georgette N. Gray, the current Deputy Director General for Administration, as Acting Director General of the Food Authority of Liberia to ensure continuity of leadership and operations during the investigation.
President Boakai reaffirmed his commitment to improving governance, strengthening accountability and upholding due process.
The Liberian Chief Executive called on all government officials to perform their duties to the highest standards of competence, integrity and dedication, emphasizing that public service carries a responsibility to serve the Liberian people faithfully and effectively.
