Fellow Liberians, esteemed leaders, and visionary youth,
Today, I write this message to you not just as Amayah Kromah Mulbah, but as a son of Liberia,a nation brimming with untapped potential, yet shackled by systemic inertia. Our beloved country is at a crossroads. We can no longer afford to linger in complacency while the world advances. It is time to awaken, to rise, and to rebuild Liberia through the pillars of education, agriculture, public works, and Technology .
1 Education: The Foundation of Our Future
Liberia’s educational system is in crisis. Dilapidated schools, underpaid teachers, and outdated curricula are stifling the minds of our future leaders. But education is not just about literacy—it is about empowerment. We must:
Reform curricula to include critical thinking, entrepreneurship, and digital skills.
Invest in teacher training and fair wages to retain quality educators.
-Bridge the urban-rural divide by ensuring every child, whether in Monrovia,Bong or Sinoe has access to quality learning.
A nation that neglects its education system is a nation that forfeits its future. Liberia must choose progress over stagnation.
2. Agriculture: The Untapped Goldmine
Liberia is blessed with fertile soil, yet we import food while our farmers struggle. Agriculture should be our economic backbone, not an afterthought. We must:
a.Modernize farming techniques by introducing mechanization and sustainable practices.
b.Support local farmers with access to credit, storage facilities, and markets.
c.Promote agribusiness to transform subsistence farming into a thriving industry.
Imagine a Liberia where our rice, cocoa, and cassava feed not just our people but also generate export revenue. The time for self-sufficiency is now.
3. Public Works: Rebuilding Our Infrastructure
Our roads are crumbling, our hospitals lack basic supplies, and electricity remains a luxury for many. Public works are the veins of a functioning society. We must:
Prioritize infrastructure projects that connect communities and boost commerce.
Ensure transparency in contracts to prevent corruption and wasted resources.
Invest in renewable energy to power homes, schools, and businesses sustainably.
A nation with strong infrastructure is a nation that thrives. Liberia deserves roads that lead to progress, not potholes of despair.
4. Technology: The Great Equalizer
In a world driven by innovation, Liberia cannot afford to lag. Technology can leapfrog decades of stagnation. We must:
Expand internet access to rural areas, ensuring digital inclusion for all.
Promote STEM education to prepare our youth for the jobs of tomorrow.
Encourage tech startups by providing grants and incubation hubs.
From mobile banking to e-governance, technology can revolutionize how we live, work, and govern.
The future is digital—will Liberia be left behind?
A Call to Action
Liberians, the power to change our nation lies not just in the hands of our leaders, but in our collective will. We must hold our government accountable, but we must also take initiative in our communities.
Parents, demand better schools.
Farmers, embrace modern techniques.
Youth, innovate and lead.
Professionals, mentor the next generation.
This is not just a speech it is a wake up call. Liberia’s greatness has been delayed, but it is not denied. Let us rise, rebuild, and reclaim our destiny.
The time for action is now.
Thank you.
A Kromah Mulbah
