Lucky Phillip Dube, Born on August 3, 1964, in Ermelo, South Africa, was raised in p0verty by his single mother.
Before finding his calling in reggae, he worked as a gardener and started singing in his school choir.
began his professional career singing Zulu mbaqanga music before switching to reggae in 1984, heavily influenced by Jimmy Cliff and Peter Tosh.
Lucky Dube was a celebrated reggae musician and Rastafarian, widely regarded as Africa's best-selling reggae artist of all time.
On October 18, 2007, Dube was ambushed and fatally sh0t in the Johannesburg suburb of Rosettenville by armed men attempting to steal his expensive Chrysler 300C.
Soon after the attack, the news broke all over the world that it was Nigerians that k!lled him, and it was trending like wide fire.
Investigations were carried out and three South African cr!minals were arrested. HE WAS K!LLED BY HIS CR!MINAL MINDED BROTHERS😔
According to reports, the three South African men were already active, habitual cr!minals involved in organized carjacking and armed robbery before that incident.
During the trial, the court heard that the att@ckers did not recognize the internationally famous musician.
One of the perpetrators later confessed that they targeted the luxury vehicle assuming the driver was a wealthy Nigerian, and opened fire when cha0s ensued. THEY ALWAYS TARGET NIGERIANS😔
The three South African, Sifiso Mhlanga, Julius Gxowa, and Mbuti Mabe who were conv!cted for the murder and other related robbery charges, admitted that they did not know who their victim was until they saw the news report the following day.
Till date, many still think it was Nigerians that k!lled him based on the initial false alarm by South Africans, because the case became silent as soon as they discovered it was South Africans cr!minals that carried out the att@ck.
