Bea Mountain Mining Corporation Provides Crucial Support to Robertsport Flood Victims
Following the recent devastating floods that left many residents of the Kru and Fanti Town communities in Robertsport City homeless, Bea Mountain Mining Corporation (BMMC) stepped forward with significant humanitarian aid on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The company donated a large consignment of assorted food items to assist over 200 affected individuals, demonstrating its commitment to community welfare.
The donation was officially handed over through Grand Cape Mount County Superintendent Hon. Foley J. Kiatamba Speaking on behalf of BMMC, Government & Community Affairs Manager Mr. Alpaslan Özbilge expressed deep sympathy for those displaced, acknowledging the company's responsibility and solidarity with the victims. He apologized for the unforeseen crisis and assured continued support from the company’s senior management.
County officials warmly thanked Bea Mountain for its swift response and ongoing contributions to the welfare of communities across the county. They praised the company’s openness and cooperation with local leadership, highlighting BMMC’s established role in regional development and assistance.
Beyond immediate relief, Bea Mountain has taken proactive remedial measures to prevent future flooding. The company dispatched heavy equipment, including an excavator, to Robertsport to assist locals in reopening the estuary (commonly referred to as the “bad mouth”), which has been identified as the flood’s cause. This effort aims to restore proper water flow and protect residents from further displacement.
BMMC’s intervention demonstrates the power of public-private partnerships in addressing urgent humanitarian needs, reinforcing the importance of collaborative efforts among companies, local government, and communities.
The company also thanked its stakeholders, particularly the Grand Cape Mount County Legislative Caucus and the County Administration, for their ongoing engagement and support during the flood response and estuary reopening process.
This initiative reflects Bea Mountain’s ongoing commitment to its host communities and the broader region, providing relief and infrastructure support in moments of crisis.
