Congratulations to these two outstanding Liberian ladies, Recruit Estella N. Liberty and Recruit Diamond Eddietta Roberts, on joining the Liberia National Police (LNP) as part of the new intake of young university graduates.

Recruit Estella N. Liberty, a graduate of the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU), and Recruit Diamond Eddietta Roberts, a graduate of AME Zion University with a Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement, have both successfully answered the call to serve their country through professional policing.

Their recruitment follows the growing partnership between the Liberia National Police and local universities aimed at strengthening the force with educated, disciplined, and service-driven young professionals.

These two young women represent a new generation of officers committed to integrity, public service, and national development. Their achievement also highlights the increasing role of women in law enforcement and the continued modernization of the LNP.

The Liberia National Police is congratulated for this progressive step, and both recruits are wished success as they begin their careers in service to Liberia.

A Liberian woman, Fatumata Kolleh, has been severely injured for allegedly running “chichipoly” in Sophie Community, Congo Town.

According to her account in an interview with Verity News, the incident happened on May 26, 2026, when she was called into a compound after being accused of sending “chichipoly” to another woman’s partner in the United States.

Kolleh alleged that upon entering the compound, she was locked inside, pepper-sprayed, and beaten by several individuals, while her phone and other belongings were taken from her. She further claimed that the attackers are still in possession of her items.

She also expressed concern that the matter may not be properly handled, claiming some of those involved believe they have influence over law enforcement.

Kolleh is calling on the public and authorities to ensure justice is served.

The Government of Liberia says all the 285 yellow machines acquired for road construction and maintenance have successfully arrived in the country and are currently being prepared for deployment.

Speaking to LNTV on Saturday at Camp Sandee Ware Military Barracks, a senior member of the Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee, the body responsible for overseeing the deployment and operation of the machines, said distribution to the various counties will begin on June 29, 2026. The southeastern region is expected to receive the first batch before the rollout expands to other parts of the country.

Government officials say the equipment will support ongoing road rehabilitation and maintenance efforts across Liberia, helping to improve transportation and connectivity for communities. The initiative is also expected to reduce the government's reliance on rented and contracted road construction equipment while boosting infrastructure development nationwide.

PUBLIC NOTICE | WASSCE CANDIDATE NUMBERS

The Ministry of Education has received reports that some schools are withholding WASSCE candidate numbers and examination information from students because of unpaid tuition or other school-related fees.

The Ministry wishes to make clear that this practice violates Ministry policy. No school is permitted to deny, delay, withhold, or obstruct a student’s participation in any WAEC-administered examination because of unpaid tuition, arrears, graduation fees, registration fees, or any other financial obligation.

With the WASSCE examination scheduled to begin on Monday, June 1, 2026, and schools closing ahead of the examination period, all schools currently withholding candidate numbers or examination information are directed to immediately release such information to eligible students.

Any school found violating this directive will face administrative sanctions, including fines, suspension of operational privileges, revocation of operational permits, and further action where necessary.

Parents, guardians, and students are encouraged to immediately report any school refusing to release candidate numbers or preventing students from sitting the examination through their District Education Officer (DEO), County Education Officer (CEO), Our Social Media DMs, the Bureau of Basic and Secondary Education, or the nearest Ministry office.

The Ministry remains committed to ensuring that no student is denied the opportunity to sit a national examination because of financial challenges.
