Buchanan: Feb 6, 2024- Dr. Weidehgar, a medical doctor and the county health officer of Grand Bassa County is not just sitting but using his advocacy skills to get the county public hospital to standard.
He has been robust in his advocacy for the improvement of the health sector.
Based on his desire to see a vibrant health sector, Weidehgar who has spent at least three years in the county has met with partners, stakeholders, and others to help by improving the infrastructure of the hospital.
Besides that, the young medical doctor has also lobbied for modern medical equipment to do major tests that are mostly referred to Monrovia.
With his tireless efforts to see the county hospital improved, Weidehgar lobbied with the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to render assistance for a safe environment for the staff and patients.
Due to Weidehgar's hard work, the Church has begun renovating the entire building of the Liberian government hospital in Buchanan.
The work the church has agreed to do includes a new roof on the main building, a walkway, and the isolation building and replacing of damaged ceilings.
For the Labor room, the replacement of the air conditioners and the building of a new trash incinerator among others.
Furthermore, the CHO Weidehgar lobbying power has made the hospital benefit from several medical equipment including a microscope, Kidney, Liber, and heart function test machines.
Other things Dr.Weidehgar lobbied for are a chest freezer, refrigerator, dryer machine, a new generator, a Laparotomy set, and patient gowns among others.
Dr.Weidehgar who has a passion for the medical field was also able to meet with District Two lawmaker Clarance Bank to improve the Laboratory department of the hospital.
The work that has started when completed will be a comfortable place for the use of patients and the staff of the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Bassa CHO has expressed happiness for the level the hospital has reached.
He commended the staff of the hospital for their cooperation, adding that these things would not have been achieved without them.
