The Clerk of the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Grand Bassa County, James Zewinyou, on Tuesday made a humanitarian donation to the Christian Association of the Blind in the Four Houses Community, Buchanan.

The donation, made in the spirit of Christmas, included two (2) 25kg bags of rice, clothes, and shoes.

Mr. Zewinyou said the gesture was meant to identify with members of the association during the festive season and to show compassion for people living with disabilities.

“Our doors are open—knock on them whenever the need arises,” he told members of the association during the presentation.

Mr. Zewinyou also used the occasion to call on county officials and well-meaning citizens to emulate the gesture by supporting old folks, people with disabilities, and families of the Christian Association of the Blind, especially during the Christmas season.

Buchanan, August 19, 2025- Former Vice Presidential candidate, Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine, has donated 30,000 Liberian dollars to the Three Blocks Campaign supporting the expansion of Kpanay High School.

Brumskine, who ran on the Alternative National Congress (ANC) ticket, made the contribution on Tuesday.

Speaking with Magic FM on Tuesday, Abel Jah, chairman of the Three Blocks Campaign, confirmed that the funds were sent directly to his phone from Brumskine’s office.

He explained that the money will be used to purchase 300 blocks as the campaign progresses.

"This is the initial contribution of Charlyne Brumskine," he added.

She was written and in no time, sent in her contribution, this is a style of good leadership, he expressed.

He also added that the cllr. Is supporting several students in the school who don't have the financial means of going to school.

Jah expressed his gratitude for her generosity.

According to Jah, they need little over 10 thousand united states dollars to build additional four classrooms to reduce the overcrowding of schools.

The school is jam parked and we must ensure it is reduced for proper learning, he noted.

Mr. Jah encouraged other prominent figures to follow the good example of Cllr. Charlene Brumskine and support the initiative.

Director George Doryen Urges Nationwide Drug Testing for Teachers and Students to Ensure Safe Learning Environment

Buchanan, April 16, 2025- The Director of Buchanan Community School, George Doryen, is recommending to the government to conduct drug tests for all teachers across the country.

Doryen made the recommendation on Tuesday in an interview with Magic FM in central Buchanan.

Besides the teachers, he also wants drug tests to be conducted for the students.

According to him, the drug tests are necessary because he believes some teachers and students may take substances before going to school.

He added that the teachers are at risk because when some of the students go to school, their attitude shows that they are suspected of taking drugs.
