Tarwah Urges Graduates to Embrace Creativity and Technology at Yard-Liberia Vocation’s 2nd Convocation

By Emmanuel M. Kangar, Jr.

Harbel, Margibi County ~ Representing the CEO of the Abraham Delleh Wala Education Foundation, Mr. Abraham Delleh Wala, Mr. Ratello Tarwah served as guest speaker at the 2nd Convocation of the Yard-Liberia Vocation, held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Women's Resource Center in the Harbel General Market.

Delivering an inspiring keynote address under the theme, 'Unleashing Your Potential Through Creativity: The Power of Technology and Entrepreneurship in the Liberian Context,' Mr. Tarwah challenged graduates and attendees to embrace creativity, innovation, and resilience as tools for transforming Liberia's future.

“Potential may be defined as the skill and the will to develop and perform at a higher level in the future,” Tarwah stated, urging the graduates to believe in their ability to innovate and excel. “Creativity isn’t just about art, music, or writing ~ it’s also in the way you think, solve problems, and strive to change the status quo of our country.”

Highlighting the role of technology in today’s world, Tarwah emphasized that it is a powerful platform for transforming ideas into reality. He encouraged the graduates not to be discouraged by challenges or setbacks.

“From now onwards, I charge you to go forward and change the course of our technology and entrepreneurship spheres of our dear patrimony,” he declared. “Obstacles will come, but they should be seen as recipes for overcoming and achieving your desires.”

Mr. Tarwah pointed out that through tools like coding, young people can build applications, games, and platforms that not only generate income but also solve real-world problems. He cited examples of how some of the most successful entrepreneurs started with nothing more than a simple idea and a drive to bring it to life.

“Every successful entrepreneur started with an idea ~ just like yours,” he reminded the audience. “What problems do you see around you that you’d love to solve? No idea is too small.”

He also stressed the importance of teamwork and collaboration, stating that combining ideas and skills can lead to innovations that individuals cannot achieve alone.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Tarwah encouraged the graduates to take ownership of their future by aligning their creativity with technological tools to develop solutions tailored to Liberia’s unique challenges.

“Embrace your imagination, harness the power of technology, and let your ideas soar,” he concluded. “I can’t wait to see what incredible things you will create in the future.”

The Yard-Liberia Vocation’s convocation was attended by graduates, parents, local leaders, and supporters of the institution’s mission to empower Liberian youth through skills training and education.

The Abraham Delleh Wala Education Foundation remains a key partner in supporting educational and vocational initiatives across Liberia.

Monserrado County - On September 12, 2025: In a significant operation, the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) arrested four individuals linked to the sale of Kush drugs in the Johnsonville Community.

The operation, led by ACP. Patrick Kormazu, the Deputy Director for Operations and Officer in Charge of Unit 702, took place in a ghetto area where a vehicle was identified as part of an illegal drug distribution network.

During the raid, LDEA agents seized a substantial amount of Kush drugs from the vehicle. However, the owner managed to escape the scene, evading capture.

The agency is actively pursuing leads to locate the individual, while the four arrested suspects are believed to have been selling drugs on behalf of the vehicle's owner.

ACP Kormazu addressed the significance of the operation, emphasizing the LDEA's ongoing commitment to tackling drug trafficking and ensuring public safety.

The agency continues to investigate the case as part of its larger efforts to combat illegal drug activities in the region.

From Ashes to Action: Sen. McGill Supports Dolo Town Comprehensive Health Center Rebuilding Journey

By Emmanuel M. Kangar, Jr.

Margibi County, Liberia ~ In a significant move to support the rebuilding of the Dolo Town Comprehensive Health Center, the office of Margibi County Senator Nathaniel F. McGill on Saturday, September 13, 2025, donated 30 bundles of zinc to the facility’s Rebuilding Committee.

Speaking during the donation exercise at the project site, Mr. Sellu Jamina, Project Manager in Senator McGill’s office, said the gesture is aimed at alleviating the burden on the committee and jumpstarting the zinc roofing phase of the ongoing reconstruction.

“The 30 bundles of zinc, valued at $3,600, are the first phase of the zincing materials. An additional 15 bundles will be delivered in the coming days, bringing the total to 45 bundles needed for the roofing completion,” Jamina disclosed.

He reaffirmed Senator McGill’s commitment to the full restoration of the Dolo Town Comprehensive Health Center, noting that this is not the first donation made by the senator’s office toward the project.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the committee, Mr.Richard Jensen extended gratitude to the senator's office, describing the gesture as a major boost to the rebuilding efforts.

“This is a huge donation and it will take the project a long way,” Jensen said. “We promise to use the material strictly for it intended purpose.”

Senator McGill has been among the few lawmakers making substantial contributions toward the reconstruction of the health facility, which was gutted by fire in February this year. The incident left residents of Dolo Town and surrounding areas without access to essential health services, prompting local citizens, health workers, and community leaders alongside the media to come together and initiate the rebuilding process.

Since then, Senator McGill has continued to demonstrate support for the initiative, with his office playing a leading role in mobilizing resources.

The rebuilding of the Dolo Town Comprehensive Health Center remains a critical project for the community, and contributions like these are seen as vital steps toward restoring much-needed health services in the area.
