Executive Director Hon. Ansu V. S. Dulleh Sr. of the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) allegedly sanctioned two Deputy Executive Directors from performing their duties.
According to my reliable sources and some employees of the National Disaster Management Agency, Executive Director Hon. Ansu V. S. Dulleh Sr. has restricted and sanctioned all national and international communications and invitations for Deputy Executive Director for Administration Hon. Konto Saygar and Deputy Executive Director for Operations Hon. Louis K. D. Morris, directing them to his office. Hon. Dulleh declared the sanctions on grounds that the act creating the agency did not assign specific functions or roles to the DEDA and DEDO positions. This conflict has been ongoing for several months, causing significant distraction for Departmental Directors and Assistant Directors within the agency.
My sources inform me that Executive Director Ansu V. S. Dulleh Sr. has also cut off weekly managers and senior staff meetings due to the internal conflict and his interpretation of the agency's founding act.
Additionally, I have been informed that the Executive Director has divided the agency into two factions instead of uniting the workforce for positive productivity, especially as the agency's efforts are crucial during the flood season Liberia.
Misappropriation of Government Funding
Sources within the National Disaster Management Agency allege that the Executive Director has misused USD $100,000.00 that was allocated to the agency's account for pre-positioning items for flood, fire, sea erosion, windstorm, conflict, and other hazards outbreak. Reliable information indicates that Hon. Dulleh used USD $30,000 of the USD$100,000.00 to purchase 100 acres of land in Toedee.
Furthermore, it is alleged that the Executive Director criminally used LD $1,000,000.00 given to him by the Vice President of Liberia, who led government officials to River Cess during a mine landslide. The Vice President provided the money to help victims and survivors families with school fees and hospital bills. Instead, it is alleged that Dulleh used the funds for his Ramada celebration.
Hon. Dulleh's technical advisor, Mr. Tube Chie Tugbe, a former Housing Boss jailed and dismissed by President Weah's administration for embezzling millions of United States dollars from the National Housing Authority, is allegedly coaching Dulleh on how to misuse government funds for personal gain. If no action is taken, Hon. Dulleh will cause serious damage and distraction to the agency, affecting its support from international and national partners who assist disaster victims in Liberia.
I would like to use this platform to call on President Joseph N. Boakai and the Board Chairman of the National Disaster Management Agency to investigate these allegations and take appropriate action, as this government's agenda is to fight against corruption and internal conflicts. This is one government.
