In case you’re wondering what happened between CIC and JZyNo, let me explain it and you can judge who’s at fault.
1. As we all know, CIC and JZyNo were once good friends until JZyNo publicly criticized the industry and his fellow artists.
2. Fast forward to 2023: JZyNo successfully featured Lasmid on “Butter My Bread.” Lasmid verse trended, giving JZyNo more exposure since he owns the song.
3. I remember when JZyNo had an interview in Ghana, where he criticized the Liberian industry out of pride, especially after Liberians started praising his hit song.
4. In response, CIC weighed in advising JZyNo to stay in his lane and make the most of the favor God has blessed him with. He urged him, as a big brother, to avoid speaking on things he doesn’t fully understand.
5. Following CIC response, JZyNo fans sparked controversy and began shading CIC impact in the industry. Shockingly, JZyNo seemed to accept and fuel the tension.
6. Fast forward to 2024: the beef started to heat up again. During an interview in Liberia, JZyNo openly said he “cannot speak to CIC” due to their public rivalry.
7. Keep in mind, JZyNo and CIC had already been on bad terms privately, but when JZyNo made that statement on-air, it confirmed the tension was real.
8.The issue of the “001” title came up when fans started comparing JZyNo to CIC. In response, JZyNo declared himself the only global artist from Liberia the only international artist, and the only one to have featured big names.
