Maaaan, I had such a special Friday morning. πŸ₯ΊπŸ’™

I walked into Spur in Maseru and was warmly greeted by β€˜M’e Mookho Makananelo Loke Makhanya who thanked me for the financial literacy and financial wellness content I share online.

Then, completely unexpectedly, she offered to buy breakfast for me and the person I was with as a token of appreciation. πŸ₯ΊπŸ™πŸΎπŸŽ‰

Kea leboha, Mookho. πŸ™πŸΎπŸ’™

It wasn’t just the beautiful gesture that touched me. It was the reminder to keep going. Keep creating. Keep sharing. Don’t stop. πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸ½

As creators, we don’t always see what happens on the other side of a post, podcast episode, video or article. Sometimes we wonder whether anyone is listening, whether the work is making a difference, or whether it’s worth continuing.

And then someone walks up to you over breakfast and reminds you that they are listening. πŸ₯Ί

This meant more than you probably realise.

Thank you for the encouragement, the kindness and for reminding me that the work matters. πŸ’™

Now… let me go create some more. πŸ˜…πŸŽ™οΈπŸ“šβœ¨

β€œBut the bank said I qualify for it.”

It’s a sentence we hear often in financial wellness conversations.

And our response?

β€œYes. But do you need it?”

Being able to afford the monthly instalment doesn’t necessarily mean you can afford the loan.

One loan can become two.
Two can become four.
And before you know it, payday becomes less about receiving your salary and more about watching it disappear. 😭

Borrowing isn’t always bad. Sometimes a loan is necessary and can help you solve an important financial problem.

But before you borrow, pause.

Ask yourself the seven questions that could help you decide whether that loan is actually right for youβ€”or simply available to you.

Remember: Just because you qualify for the loan doesn’t mean you need it.
