People living with different conditions and disabilities are often derided in different societies because of the lack of knowledge. This limits the opportunities that they get in life and also impedes their integration into schools and other social spaces. When Mabilikoe Matete from Ha-Thetsane, in Lesotho's capital, Maseru, was diagnosed with autism just over 20 years ago, his parents faced were out of sorts.

Apart from the struggles in the home, they struggled to enrol him into school. But fast forward 20 years later, Billy as some now call him, is now a qualified chef after graduating with a Diploma from Dona@Balos, a culinary school in Maseru.

Africa News 24 managing editor, Silence Charumbira, sat down with Chef Donald Moletsane, the founder and director of Dona@Balos and Billy's mother, 'Mampiti Matete who shared their experience and also got to taste Billy the Chef's spaghetti bolognaise.HERE.
