CCX'S SPONSOR NOT AWARE OF STATUS SALE
MASERU- It was during the launch of Ramela Soccer Spectacular that a baffled Bishop David Thakadu Ramela disclosed that they had no idea that CCX FC sold it's status.
CCX FC, which was proudly sponsored by Ramela and Associates, has sold its status to a Mokhotlong-based Black Five Football Club.
"Ramela and Associates works so hard to help these overlooked team. Members is where it is today because of this sponsorship.
"Nonetheless, Batsoali (CCX FC) backstabbed me and sold the team without telling me, yet I sponsor it," Bishop Ramela had said at the launch.
Ramela and Associates sponsors Lits'ilo FC, Members FC, Botha-Buthe Warriors, CCX FC and Linare FC.
In an exclusive with the president of CCX, Moholi Thetsane, he explained that they had initially planned to tabled their desire to sell the team with the sponsor but were unable to.
He also mentioned that they are now in the process of meeting Ramela and Associates to forge a way forward.
Ramela sponsored the team with coach's and players' salaries and technical equipment.
Black Five bought CC X's status for the amount estimated around M100 000.00.
Thetsane also explained that players wishing to join other teams will be given their clearances.
Black Five FC will use the name CCX FC for the upcoming 2025/26 A-Division league.
