Dune: Awakening Smashes Funcom Record
Dune: Awakening announced that it reached one million players on Steam, which translates into a staggering one million units sold in around two weeks of launch. In the process, the open-world title made history for Funcom and became its fastest-selling title ever. The developer stressed Dune: Awakening's commercial numbers by sharing that its previous game, Conan Exiles, took one year to sell the same number of copies. Apart from this achievement, Funcom also showed an infographic shedding light on the player activity that has taken place in the sci-fi game thus far. It was revealed that over 66K players had perished in sandstorms, over 120K building pieces had been used, and more than half a million Ornithopters had been crafted, among other things. Moreover, BeneGesserit was revealed to be the favorite starting mentor of Dune: Awakening players, whereas Mentat turned out to be the least-picked mentor.
