It wouldn’t be a Sunday without another spotlight - meet Rusnė, the host behind "Po radaru“.

“Po radaru” is a monthly dive into the underground of Lithuania’s alternative scene, where conversations unfold in a tiny studio with just two microphones and no filter. Here, Rusnė, still in school herself, sits down with bands and artists you’ve likely never heard of, bringing their stories, raw thoughts, and music into the spotlight. You never quite know what will come up: anything from personal journeys of self‑discovery to fifteen unexpected Joe Rogan shout‑outs. Each episode features the artist’s music, following a discussion, unfolding new layers that let familiar songs sound entirely different.

Beyond the mic, Rusnė has long been immersed in music; she sings and plays bass in the band Kodama, and sometimes switches roles, picking up a camera instead. She is closely connected to a community of young, exciting musicians who deserve far more attention than they receive, and this is precisely what sparked the idea for the show: not professionalism, but a deep desire to share the richness of Lithuania’s alternative scene.

Another week, another introduction – meet Urtė, the face & voice behind "Be vietos".

"Be vietos" is a weekly journey for those who sometimes feel alone, even in a crowd, and are searching for a place where they truly belong. In this intimate refuge, Urtė shares her favorite music from all corners of the world alongside gems from Lithuania’s flourishing music scene, creating a safe space for thoughts, feelings, and the soul. The show’s name reflects the special place that music builds for us; when we feel like strangers on this earth, we turn to melodies that understand us.

By the way, Urtė is one of the youngest creators at estakada99, yet her musical taste and emotional sensitivity shine through every episode. She believes it’s just as important to know what’s happening in your home country’s music scene as it is to follow what’s trending abroad, and with Lithuanian music now in a golden age, there’s something for everyone to discover.

Music is just one part of Urtė’s creative world. She plays guitar, channeling her feelings into sound, unafraid to experiment and search for new, unheard tones. Concerts are her other great passion, she attends them often, drawn to the unrepeatable magic of live performance, its atmosphere, and the way it pulls you wholly into the moment.

Urtė invites listeners not only to explore music but to feel it deeply, to find in it a home – wherever they may be.

Let’s talk about Lyrinė akustika - a heartfelt radio show created and hosted by a sound explorer who goes by the musical pseudonym ature, aka Rūta.

Each episode of Lyrinė akustika is a gentle invitation to slow down and tune in; not just to sound, but to feeling. The show blends calm, lyrical storytelling with carefully chosen sonic textures, touching on all things audio-related. So far, topics have included the magic of foley effects and the expansive world of ambient music, with plenty more to come.

Rūta crafts every episode with the kind of care that makes you feel like you’re in the room with her - curious, relaxed, and maybe even learning something new along the way. The aim? To help you unwind without switching off your brain.

When she’s not hosting, ature makes her own music in the alternative/ambient/electronic space and is always happy to experiment, rarely sticking to one genre, but always drawn to creative sound design. Her musical journey started all the way back in 2003 with music school and took shape online around 2012 on the now defunct MusicLab platform.

The photo of Rūta featured today is a shot by Deniz Kirci, lead singer of Lilith & the Wildflowers, a band you’ll get to meet properly in the third episode of the show, dedicated to indie music.

Independent online radio estakada99 is rolling into its next adventure – and we want you on board to help chart the course of our creative community.

estakada99 is a fresh space and platform for alternative, niche, and underground artists. We’re a registered non-profit and cultural NGO with one simple goal: to boost the cultural pulse of Lithuania. We’re here to spread the sounds and stories that don’t always get a spotlight.

This time around, we’re looking for:
• Showmakers and DJs with a spark to create new radio shows; whether you’re dreaming up themed music sets, deep-dive interviews, audio diaries, or exploring the stories behind scenes and subcultures.
• Sound artists keen to play with audio experiments, field recording, or radio art.
• Singers and bands ready for collaboration, sessions, or broadcasting live performances, as well as showing off brand new songs in our song-based shows.
• Venues and spaces who would like to host events, gigs, or live sessions with us.
• Curious minds and cultural explorers, especially those with an eye for the unknown or the overlooked.

Let us introduce you to Anemoja - a weekly program by a guy named Jonas!

Anemoja is a place where you may evoke a strange feeling of being transported to somewhere you’ve never been, yet that somehow feels oddly familiar. The host creates a certain atmosphere by using old, obscure music genres, such as jazz, pop, reggae, and blues, but mainly jazz, as it’s what Jonas listens to the most.

Jonas would consider himself a maximalist, someone who always strives for big victories. To him, having the opportunity to host Anemoja is already a huge win. Jonas always tries to find a small piece of nothing that can be turned into something, and he is very grateful to every listener who gives him a try.

As Jonas said himself, the listener is the most important person here. Jonas merely tries to add a few small details between songs so that it doesn’t feel like listening to a glorified Spotify playlist. Yet at the same time, he always tries to leave most of the spotlight on the music, since showcasing the tunes is, and always will be, the main point of attraction.

We are excited to introduce you to Kasparas – the curator behind Violet Waves Radio!

Violet Waves Radio is a deep dive into the modern world of alternative rock, where dreamy and ethereal soundscapes built on lush guitar effects take center stage. The show explores a rich variety of genres, moving from indie rock and shoegaze to math-rock, post-hardcore, surf-rock, and punk rock. Every episode unfolds as its own unique story, offering surprising turns and sonic discoveries.

Kasparas himself is a creator rooted in melancholic guitar music. He is currently involved in several projects, including „Atefiina“, his personal venture „Sunlow“, and the emerging band „qliniq“. Two key albums that sparked his musical journey are Tame Impala’s „Lonerism“ and DIIV’s „Oshin“, both of which came out in 2012 and continue to inspire him today.

The mission of Violet Waves Radio is to spotlight unique and deserving up-and-coming bands who haven’t yet reached a wide audience. The program often features special guests, bringing fresh perspectives and sometimes leading the genre into unexpected directions—there is always the promise of a surprise. Kasparas is dedicated to discovering and sharing compelling new music that enchants and energizes its listeners.

We would like to introduce you to Laimonas – the voice from the show Barkarolė!

Barkarolė is a journey through the music landscape of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, featuring the exceptional voices of Lithuanian women. It features legends – from Miščiukaitė to Ščiukaitė, and don’t forget Nelly Paltinienė! Each show is accompanied by interesting stories about their lives, work, and era.

The show’s creator has been interested in music since his school days, and the first performer to catch his eye was Nelly Paltinienė. With the help of his friends, Laimonas even attended her concert and met Nelly in person. Nelly surprised him with a very rare, signed copy of her CD, of which there are only three copies in the world!

With the show Barkarolė, Laimonas aims to showcase women in the music world who have been overshadowed by their male counterparts. He also wants to reveal how much wonderful and unheard music we have in the Lithuanian catalog.

Laimonas considers himself a precise person, he is a pharmacist, but creativity and music follow him everywhere. The author of the program is particularly fascinated by the gracefulness of the music performers he discusses, the lyricism of their works, the glamour of their costumes, and he promises to infect listeners with this fascination!

estakada99 is nearing its launch and for it to be a success, we need your support!

We’re entering two exciting launch phases and fundraising is key to brining our vision to reality. Whilst it’s fun to foster for local and international creators, giving them a platform is a financial strain, especially when we are a non-profit entity, seeking to provide cultural means to everyone.

For these reasons, we’re launching a fundraising to help off-set our administrative, equipment, rental and other vital costs that keep the stream running and the studio doors open.
