Just as I am

Just as I am We are a group that offers support and resources for parents with uniquely able children and adults

06/02/2024

We are preparing to launch our organization in Sebring Florida. We are the Just As I Am organization, providing resources and support for special needs and uniquely able children.

We will be hosting free yearly resource fairs for families to gather, collect valuable information, and connect with other families for support.

Our judgment-free environment offers free family portraits, food, and entertainment, as well as top local and state resources.

If you know any families that would benefit from this group, please don’t hesitate to add and spread the word so we can connect to as many families in our community.

Thank you

Aria Mia Loberti made history at the recent Golden Globes as the first legally blind actress to grace the red carpet with her guide dog. Her role in the acclaimed series “All the Light We Cannot See” was acknowledged, emphasizing the significance of genuine representation in entertainment. Loberti expressed the honor of representing her community and culture, stressing the unprecedented nature of authentic portrayal on such a grand scale in film. Well, I did it. It was a pretty large crowd. But I focused on the three ladies that were there while speaking. A few tears came out, but I made it through.

The rotary club of Sebring was so incredibly welcoming.
They are so generous with their initiatives in giving back to the community.

Here comes the best part.
They are pulling their resources with an accountant, lawyer, and banker to get my 503 status back up and running, start a bank account and make a donation to the organization.

This is something that I would honestly not be able to do on my own. And now I have help. I am so incredibly blessed and grateful for the beautiful people in the Rotary club and Sebring.

Are you guys ready for the biggest resource event, filled fun, food and entertainment for special-needs in Sebring.

I am!!!!

I have the same need as I did back in Ocala. I want to start a support group here in highlands county for special needs moms. I have been talking to my mom and we are doing it! It’s going to be very similar to Just as I am in Ocala, which I started four years ago.

We are going to have our event after 2023 school starts. I don’t want to give too many details away right now. But there’s going to be prices, food and DJ!

God does not give special children to special people. He gives children with disabilities to ordinary people who then have a chance.
A chance to enter a world where differences are celebrated and true beauty is found.
Where sorrow and abounding joy can be felt in the same breath. And hardship does not mean the absence of happiness.
Where love can be communicated without ever uttering a word. And compassion and empathy invades every crevice in the heart.
Where hearts break over and over but the rebuilding creates something even stronger and more beautiful than before. And piece by piece, transformation begins.
Where advocacy and acceptance become like the air you breathe. And perspectives are challenged, redefined, and reshaped.
Where the smallest steps forward become the hope for tomorrow. And the reason for celebration unmatched.
God does not give special children to special people. He gives children with disabilities to ordinary people that have a chance to wake up every day and make a choice. A choice to love, to learn, and grow into the best version of themselves all because they have the privilege of loving one incredible human being.
