diaries of diariesof is a travel coffee table magazine that inspires people to travel around the world. These were certainly moments not to be missed.

diariesof is a travel and photography coffee table magazine that begins the tale of our trip to South America. Making a journey of 22,000 kms on a motorbike, facing the vastness of the landscape and the harshness of the weather, made us feel humble. But as soon as we felt the wind blow in our faces we experienced a feeling of freedom which was priceless, which nurtured our souls and encouraged our

bodies. When we returned from this epic trip of six months, we were inspired to put together a magazine with photos and stories about what we experienced during that time. diariesof is a compilation of our stories and of the stories of other travellers we met along the way. We will never forget the people we met or their generosity. We never tire of telling all the stories that illustrate this: like the time when we were sleeping in an airport and a complete stranger woke us to offer us breakfast, the time the chain of the motorbike let us down and we were rescued by a pick-up, the time we got a lift in a hearse and so many more. diariesof is both a thank you to all the people we met along the way and a retribution to inspire people to travel around the world. We wish you happy reading and unique travels. Let the next travel begin…

This was one of our very first encounters in Timor-Leste! We had just entered the country when we spotted a group of men fishing by the roadside. We stopped to see what they were catching and to have a chat. It immediately became clear how friendly the Timorese people are! When we asked for names, we could hardly believe the man in the picture was named Valente!

A huge thank you to Nomad for inviting us to their annual travel leaders' meeting! We were delighted to be there and to connect with such an inspiring group. It's clear that Nomad's success comes from understanding that a strong team creates happy clients. And we were so honoured to share our journey and learn from so many passionate leaders and from Nomad's founders. Nomad, your vision truly inspires us!

A big thank you to for inviting us, to and for making this happen; and to .cepeda for capturing us with the group in such a beautiful, bright hall, with view over the old trams in the Porto Tram Museum. What a fantastic backdrop!

The road led us to the Kampung Adat Tamkesi, another traditional village in Timor, Indonesia. We loved connecting with the locals and learning about their lives. It was our last highlight before reaching Timor Leste's border. No common language meant that everyone talked with smiles and gestures, an absolut delight!✨

As our time in Indonesian Timor drew to a close and we drove towards Timor Leste's border, we squeezed in a detour to the Oenesu Waterfall.

We'd heard that it was beautiful, and it didn't disappoint! Its water cascades down the rocks and offers a picturesque scene. It was a bit chilly during our visit, so we didn’t go swimming but we were told that in summer, loads of people like to swim here.Even though it was cool, it was nice to see the waterfall before we left.

Farewell Kupang! Our friends shared more of their beautiful island with us, from tranquil rice fields to a fascinating encounter with a sassando musician (that tube zither sound is captivating!). The warmth of the people here is evident in their unique nose-touch greeting. Even a curious pig at a rural palace couldn't resist the allure of our motorcycle. Who can blame him?! 😄

One minute it was just us, soaking up the peace and quiet of an empty beach... the next, a whole crew of awesome young people appeared! 😂 We are still trying to figure out where they all came from – it felt like we had the island to ourselves just a while ago!

The real reason for our social media absence: it's difficult to post with mouths full! Food here has been a discovery – seriously delicious! And speaking of discoveries, look what we found: GREEN RICE! Any guesses what makes this vibrant color? 🤔

We've made it to Timor, in Indonesia!

The reason for our absence from social media is that we've had the incredible fortune to meet a group of incredibly friendly locals who have been generously sharing their culture with us and showing us around this beautiful island. We've already learned so much!

For instance, we discovered that badminton is widely considered the national sport of Indonesia, and they are exceptionally talented at it. They've impressively won gold medals in every Olympic Games since the sport's introduction in 1992, with the exceptions of 2012 and 2024.

We can certainly say we're learning from the best! A huge thank you to Ade and his friends for being such patient teachers and wonderful hosts!

We made it! Finally onboard the ferry to Timor, our last Indonesian island! We were a little worried about the 15-hour crossing from Larantuka to Kupang, especially with a storm at sea. But the ocean gods were kind! Instead of battling rough seas, we spent most of the night with... the ship's tiny ratatuilles! Who would have thought that ferry life could be so entertaining?

Another landslide! 😱 Check out the size of that rock in the middle of the road!! So lucky no one was hurt when all that ground and stone came down the hill. Oh, Flores, you're stunning but definitely challenging during the rainy season! 🙏

Our Story

diariesof is a travel and photography coffee table magazine.

The idea for this magazine arose after a journey of 22,000 kms on a motorbike. Facing the vastness of the landscape and the harshness of the weather, made us feel humble. But as soon as we felt the wind blow in our faces we experienced a feeling of freedom which was priceless, which nurtured our souls and encouraged our bodies. These were certainly moments not to be missed. When we returned from this epic trip of six months, we were inspired to put together a magazine with photos and stories about what we experienced during that time. diariesof is a magazine where different independent travellers share their experiences, travel stories and encounters. We will never forget the people we met or their generosity. We never tire of telling all the stories that illustrate this: like the time when we were sleeping in an airport and a complete stranger woke us to offer us breakfast, the time the chain of the motorbike let us down and we were rescued by a pick-up, the time we got a lift in a hearse and so many more. diariesof seeks to inspire the reader to leave the comfort of home and go travel around the world. We wish you happy reading and unique travels. Let the next travel begin…
