The University of Florida Weather Center is staffed by two full-time meteorologists and three to five appointed part-time student forecasters from the UF College of Journalism and Communications, providing local weather forecasts and severe weather coverage to all five media properties owned by the university, and to partner station WSKY-FM in Gainesville/Ocala. Studio 1 in Weimer Hall is also the

home of the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network, delivering tropical and hazardous weather coverage to all public media stations in the state of Florida. The UF Weather Center is truly multi-platform and fully redundant, able to simultaneously deliver real-time updates on television, radio, the web, and via multiple social media accounts.

Yesterday's rip currents nearly swept away 4 people swimming in Flagler Beach. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. Waves are expected to be between 6 to 9 feel tall which will pose more danger today.
