Crafted by Arthur Stammet in October 2025 and rendered entirely within Unreal Engine, this cinematic piece unfolds as a meditative journey through a landscape of intricate fractal geometries—most notably, the artist’s own creations of Menger Sponges and Cross Menger Cubes.
The film draws its philosophical essence from the Latin inscription "Ars longa, vita brevis"—art is long, life is short—engraved upon a statue perched atop the highest summit. In homage to this reflection on impermanence, the scene is devoid of human or animal presence, evoking a sense of serene abandonment.
Accompanying the visuals is an original soundtrack composed by Stammet himself: an experimental soundscape built around flute tones, breath textures, and organic rhythmic structures. The music mirrors the natural patterns seen throughout the environment—waves rising and falling, mountains looming and receding, grass swaying gently in the wind. These macro and micro movements form the pulse of the composition, creating a sonic echo of the visual rhythm.
Structured as a seamless, seven-minute aerial passage stretched across the span of a full day, the work becomes a temporal loop—a contemplative timelapse that echoes the eternal rhythm of art outlasting life.
