You never know what is behind the person you meet.
I noticed his sincere ability to be high vibe for others.
Quick to echo accolades and a vibe that left me with wonderment.
Then, one day he suggested we could make a trade…
An artist’s shirt for his wife in exchange for his music, ‘The Poet’s Moon’ CD.
I was taken back. I had no idea, he was a musician. I slipped the CD sleeve in the merch box and forgot to create space to listen. I honestly had to admit this when I saw him next. I value all that goes into creating any and all expressions of art. I acknowledged the presence I wanted to offer his creation. I was humbled by own my oversight.
I realized, in the day of streaming, most listeners have forgotten how and why to take the space to listen to an entire album. It is way to easy to skip through music and avoid listening to an album several times over.
Now, I have listened to ‘The Poet’s Moon’ several times driving up and down the SoCal coast. I personally feel needs to be listened to all together. It takes you on profound introspection with a recollection of how spoken word was shared long before here. It has a familiarity of the late 80’s/early 90’s and layers of their own invention that floss your brain in the best kind of way.
You never know what is behind the person you meet.
More than not you will be surprised. Thank you for sharing your great work.
‘Quadroon’ + ‘DCOS’ The Poet’s Moon has a permeant place in my physical music library.
As inspired, order a cassette, CD or vinyl. Then, sit back and enjoy this great work.
