They bought seventy acres in North Central Arkansas with plans to renovate the 1940s stone house already on the property. But when architect Bob Easton came to see it, he had a different idea: start over.
Within twenty-four hours, he had sketched floor plans and an elevation designed around the land itself, from the waterfalls and spring-fed lake to the natural light. “That meeting changed everything,” the owner says.
The new house still nods to the original, especially in its stone exterior, while designer Kimberly Mannis of Providence Design brought in color, warmth, and collected details throughout. Green chairs in the entry introduce a color that reappears across the house, a bubble chandelier adds personality to the study, and an existing dining table was refreshed with a lighter finish.
Easton had a simple name for the finished look: “It’s Arkansas. It’s an Arkansas country estate.”
