"The people's stand"

My Nigeria is rich with oil and gold
But dreams are being sold,
Leaders rise in promises so bold—
But hope falls silent and cold.
Is this where I came from?

Children learn in crumbling schools,
Taught to obey unjust rules,
A future built on empty tools—
Lost potential in the hands of fools.
Is this where I came from?

Injustice wears a smiling face,
Corruption thrives, a slow disgrace,
A place where truth finds no place—
The people's trust, a vanished trace.
Is this where I came from?

Rivers flow, yet thirst prevails,
Farmlands are dry, the farmer ails,
Policies drift like broken sails—
The common man's voice, a whisper, frail.
Is this where I came from?

The poor are left behind,
compassion goes blind,
Unity crumbles, hope is undefined—
A nation's soul, in shackles confined.
Is this where I came from?
