Did you know that Tighmert - ⵜⵉⵖⵎⴰⵔⵜ means : Corner or angle ✨
📍 The oasis of Tighmert is located 17 km far from the city of Guelmim (Morocco), in the community of Asrir. It is presumed that in this area was located the city of Noul Lamta which date, at least according to the descriptions of Al-Bakri, from the 11th century.
⛺️Tighmert ( Along with Mhamid lghzlane and Sijilmasa ) were departure and arrival points for caravans heading towards Mauritania and Mali, connecting the Sahel area to Europe.
✨ The arrival of a caravan was always an occasion to celebrate with songs and dances the success of crossing the Sahara desert. Each tribe celebrated it on their side and the slaves on their own.
Even today, on the banks of the river Noun, the descendants of the slaves meet every summer to celebrate this tradition with the Slave Festival.

📍 تقع واحة تيغمرت على بعد 17 كم من مدينة كلميم (المغرب) في منطقة أسرير. ويفترض أنه في هذه المنطقة كانت تقع مدينة نول لمطة التي يعود تاريخها إلى القرن الحادي عشر على الأقل حسب أوصاف البكري.
كانت تيغمرت (جنبًا إلى جنب مع محاميد لغزلان وسجيلماسة) نقاط انطلاق ووصول للقوافل المتجهة نحو موريتانيا ومالي ، وربط منطقة الساحل بأوروبا.
كان وصول القافلة دائمًا مناسبة للاحتفال بالأغاني والرقصات بنجاح عبور الصحراء. احتفلت كل قبيلة به من جانبهم والعبيد بمفردهم.
حتى اليوم ، على ضفاف نهر نون ، يلتقي أحفاد العبيد كل صيف للاحتفال بهذا التقليد في مهرجان العبيد.
