🕯️ Farewell to a Culinary Visionary — Jonnie Boer (1965–2025)
The world of fine dining mourns the loss of a true pioneer. Jonnie Boer, the legendary Dutch chef behind the three-star restaurant De Librije, passed away this week at the age of 60.

His cuisine spoke the language of the earth — wild herbs, forgotten vegetables, freshwater fish — all transformed with humility, precision, and soul. More than a chef, he was a storyteller of taste, rooted in nature and guided by instinct.
Together with his wife Thérèse, he elevated Dutch gastronomy to global heights, not through spectacle, but through truth.
“Cooking is not about impressing.

It’s about feeling. About love.” — This could have been Jonnie’s silent motto.
Today, his legacy lives on through his children and team at De Librije, and through every chef he inspired.
🌿 Thank you, Jonnie, for reminding us that cooking can be an act of poetry.
