Tim McGuire, also known locally as 'Ra TIM,' is a passionate advocate for the Malagasy people. As the Founder and CEO of TourOnePlanet, he is committed to creating opportunities for local communities to determine their own outcomes of tourism. After five years of searching for a way back, he finally created his own path in 2022. It

all began with a simple but powerful question: How could foreigners spend so much on vacations while Malagasy people remained so poor? Tim’s efforts extend beyond his business. He competed in the N1A national basketball championships with GNBC and has become well-known across the island for his engaging festival interviews, spotlighting Malagasy culture, music, and stories for a global audience.

When you were young, there was a moment when I felt like the only goal I had in life was to make sure nothing ever harmed you again. So I made myself strong so that I could be sure that no one would ever be able to hurt you.

You were my inspiration, and the person I wanted to make proud. What’s funny is that you grew up to be bigger than me, and as I see you progressing in this life, I couldn’t be more proud of who you are continuing to become.

Nothing makes me more proud than you, even if I really can’t take any of the credit for what you have achieved.
