ZUN Presents Lemons 2 Lemonade Youth Program (Mali)
Hello everyone,
My name is Famida am originally from malawi but I currently live in Mali. I am a montessori teacher. I a mother of 3 boys and a teacher to many children and adults. Like many I am haunted by the future. Everyday I see many students even as young as 5years old lack the fun, ideas and motivation of what's supposed to be an adventurous and happy childhood. I myself when asked what I wanted to be moved from baker to dancer, singer, accountant, photographer etc.
Unfortunately here in Mali many children lack the spark and support. The spark that comes with idols and motivation. So I have decided to help in a way that I know how. I recently held the first ever cooking competition in Bamako. The main idea behind the contest was to show how big of a deal cooking a meal or baking is. I wish to conduct a 3month cooking program for the youth. We will teach them how to grow fruits and vegetables and how to take care of animals but most importantly we will teach them how to make many different cuisines from around the world with the help of the Battle of the Chefs contestants. This will be a 3month free of charge program to 20 students under 21years old whom are underprivileged, unsupported, victims of abuse whom have no one and feel they have nothing to offer. This is to show that theres people out there who care and we continue to try our best to help in the best ways we know how to.
Sometimes our mind and heart are all in but our pockets are just not cooperating. So in order for me to get this project off the ground firstly here in Mali and by Gods grace in other African countries I need your help. The expenses are straight forward and listed at the bottom.
