Dear son, live a life you’ll always remember. Whatever path you choose, be who you truly wish to be. 💙✨

Today, we joined Civil Protection in remembering the 25th anniversary of 9/11. 🇺🇸

For Daddy Jean, a firefighter at his workplace, this challenge was a heartfelt way to honour those who sacrificed their lives while trying to save others.
Valentina felt inspired by her daddy and all the incredible female firefighters and servicewomen she met... Jerome was right beside her, proving that together, they can do anything. ❤️

They may not have completed the whole challenge, but they did it five times...and I’m immensely proud. ❤️ Just by showing up and following the example of those around them, they learned something valuable. Not every lesson comes from a book.

They learned courage by trying, perseverance and teamwork by encouraging each other. ❤️ They also saw what it means to serve others, through Daddy and everyone around them.
They didn’t need to finish the whole challenge to take something meaningful home.

Thank you to every serviceman and woman for your courage, sacrifice and for encouraging our children.
You deserve all the praise....not only for protecting us today, but for inspiring the heroes of tomorrow. 🚒🧑‍🚒

❤️ 🇺🇸

Two years ago, we were in New York during the 9/11 memorial ceremony—an experience we will never forget.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001, when nearly 3,000 innocent people lost their lives.
Among them was Brian Joseph Cachia, a 26-year-old American of Maltese descent who worked on the 103rd floor of the North Tower. He had become engaged just one week before the attacks. Today, Malta remembers him too. 🇲🇹🇺🇸

We also honour the courageous firefighters, first responders and medical workers who risked everything to help—including those who later died from illnesses linked to the toxic dust and fumes.

The 9/11 Memorial’s twin reflecting pools stand in the footprints of the original Twin Towers, surrounded by the names of those who were taken too soon. Each year, the Tribute in Light sends two powerful beams into the night sky—a moving symbol of remembrance, resilience and unity.

Tomorrow, Civil Protection Malta will hold its annual Remembrance Stair Climb in Valletta honouring the 343 firefighters who lost their lives while responding to the attacks. A beautiful tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 🚒
