The MDP government's promise of good governance has proven to be a complete farce. They have consistently failed to deliver on their commitments. Below are a few examples from President Ibu’s administration:
Billions were disbursed to close affiliates without any transparent process or accountability.
The MMPRC corruption scandal was never properly investigated. Worse still, Adeeb — the key figure implicated in the case — was ultimately pardoned at the last minute.
Premium land and newly reclaimed areas were handed over to a select few, rather than being strategically planned and developed for the benefit of all Maldivians. This short-sightedness risks turning these areas into slums instead of thriving, well-planned cities.
Despite holding a supermajority in the Majlis, the administration failed to deliver any meaningful legislative progress.
