M0626 Versity Games Postponed ,Green Warriors to Wait Before Facing Phoka Eagles

By Wiseman Justin gwayi

After a successful launch, the much-anticipated M0626 Versity Games, which were scheduled to take place this Saturday at the Mountain of Phoka in Rumphi, have been postponed.

According to information shared with Campus Buzz Media, the delay comes as a result of school buses being fully booked for the weeken. Other undisclosed logistical issues also played a part in the decision.

Mwayi Lupiya, the Sports Director for FAFASA, confirmed the news.
He stated that the postponement isn’t a setback, but a blessing in disguise, as it gives the Mighty Green Mzuni teams more time to prepare and sharpen their attack against their fierce rivals , the Eagles of Phoka (Unilia Sports Teams).

The games are expected to be held next week Saturday at Unilia Laws Campus in Rumphi.

Mzuni Leadership Faces Backlash Over Poor Performance and Internal Divisions

by Wiseman Justin gwayi

The current Mzuzu University Student Representative Council (MUSREC) is under growing criticism from students, many describing it as one of the worst-performing leaderships the institution has seen in recent years.

Although the council started its term late, criticism began early, with students accusing the leaders of failing to fulfill their responsibilities. Investigations by Campus Buzz Media (CBM) reveal that frustrations have grown due to several issues, including late disbursement of student loans, and the lack of entertainment activities such as open-air events and socials , activities that are usually part of student life.

CBM has also discovered serious concerns about how the leaders operate. Some leaders reportedly prioritize personal recognition over teamwork, mostly trying to take credit for initiatives instead of working together. This lack of unity and political competition within MUSREC has contributed to poor delivery of services.

Our Political reporter Godwin Kumwenda, speaking with CBM, noted that the current political environment at Mzuni is dominated by hate, jealousy, and personal interests.

“Everyone wants to shine, but no one wants to build,” Kumwenda said. “That mindset is slowly destroying leadership on campus.”

Further findings show that deep divisions exist within the council, making it difficult for leaders to cooperate. Despite the fact that the next campaign season is approaching, little seems to have been learned from the failures of the current leadership.

As Mzuni prepares to elect a new student government, the big question remains:
Are we choosing leaders based on empty promises, or real potential to serve and unite?

Mzuzu University students are calling for more than just leaders with titles. They are calling for vision, unity, and real action.
