Kanengo Police in Lilongwe has arrested a 27 year old Mada Kalithela for allegedly abondoned her Child.

Public relations officer for Kanengo Police Gresham Ngwira said the suspect residing at Nsungwi in the city of Lilongwe.

According to Ngwira, the suspect neighbor heard a child crying and after sometime she went to see and then found that a child has just dumped outside.

Ngwira also indicates that they understand that the suspect reported that she is struggling with Gas that's why she was looking like she was pregnant.

The suspect Mada Kalithela, come from Chinamwali village traditional authority Mlumbe in Zomba

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has re-sign it's former talented attacking midfielder Peter Banda.

Confirming the development, Bullets' Chief Executive office Albert Chigoga said that Banda has put pen on paper for three years.

Chigoga described Banda as talented player that will bring stability and competition to the team.

Banda had stints with Sherrif Traspol, Simba Fc before returning to the people's team in 2023.

He then signed for Zambian club before the deal collapsed due to his shoulder injury.

Some UTM party members arrived at Lingadzi Police in Lilongwe where secretary General and presidential aspirant Dr Patricia Kaliati is being kept on suspicion of conspiring to commit a serious offense

According to the statement released by the Malawi Police services and signed by national public relations officer for Malawi Police services senior Superintendent Peter Kalaya indicates that the Police arrest Dr Kaliati in Lilongwe on 24th October 2024.

Kalaya said that the Police posses evidence implicating Honorable Kaliati and two other individuals in the alleged conspiracy.

He further said that the Police are still hunting for the two and Honorable Kaliati will be taken to court within 48 hours.

Some of the UTM party guruz visit the police include Dr Dalitso Kabambe and Newton Kambala both Presidential aspirants for the party during elective convention.

Meanwhile, Newton Kambala said that he is optimistic that the party leader, who is also the state vice president Dr Michael Usi will pay a visit to Honorable Kaliati at Police

The scorchers coach Lovemore Fazili now has a sigh of relief as prolific DRC based striker Sabina Thom joins her teammates in South Africa.

Thom who plys her trade at TP Mazembe in DRC missed the first game for the scorchers yesterday as she has assignment for her club.

Speaking after her arrival, scorchers coach Fazili said her presence is a morale boost to the team as they struggled in the attacking department in their first game against Botswana.

Sabina Thom was among the players that won the championship last year.

Malawi National women's football team, Scorchers avoid defeat in their defense of COSAFA women's championship in South Africa.

Scorchers took the lead in the first half before Botswana leveled the scores before halftime.

Despite several changes in the second half but Botswana dominates over the resilient Scorchers.

Meanwhile, coach for the scorchers Lovemore Fazili said they lacked fire power in the front as their key Strikers did not travel with the team

Fazili was also quick to say that TP Mazembe attacker Sabina Thom who is expected to join the squad tonight will add attacking experience to the team and he is optimistic that they will bang all the points in the next matches.

Currently, Madagascar is at the summit of group B with Scorchers and Botswana both having a point apiece while Mauritius has no point

The Malawi National beach soccer team will depart the country today to Egypt for the AFCON beach soccer finals.

The coach for the team, W***y Kumilambe said they had good time preparing for the tournament and is optimistic that his charges will deliver

Kumilambe added that he has maintained 9 players for the squad he travelled with to Burundi in the qualifiers in his 13 man squad.

He further added that with the experience they had last time in Vilankulo, Mozambique, they are going to Egypt with a mission.

The tournament is expected to roll into action from 19th to 26th October 2024 in Hurghada, Egypt.

Coach W***y Kumilambe will travel with 13 players that consist of Goalkeepers Justin Bonongwe, Eddie Jamu and Mussah Haji, Defenders Martin Billiat, Sandram Saddie Ussi, Arnold Lasteni, Mike Chabvula, midfielders Dala Simba, Isaac Kajamu, Thoko Kamanga, Frank Mwenelupembe and Strikers Aubrian Nkhumbula and Ibrahim Said

The concerned Teachers of Malawi (CTM) has urged government to reform teacher promotion and recruitment process.

The general secretary for CTM Azeez Losa said the current process of promoting the teachers is demotivating qualified teachers who are dedicated.

Losa added that it is time now to prioritize teachers that remained in the same grade for extended period since they have experience and they are committed.

He further said that on recruiting, government has to emphasize on centralization to avoid prevent corruption and ensure fairness.

Losa also call upon government to consider introducing house allowances to alleviate teacher's financial burdens.

Meanwhile, the ministries of Education and Local government are yet to respond to the plea.
