Sadzi Community Day Secondary School Waste Management Club in partnership with Zomba Waste Advisor have ventured into a program of turning waste products into fertilizer and other items such as doormats and moppers among others.

Chairperson for Zomba Waste management Thandie Kaufulu Kasiyamphanje, highlighted that what's so special with the fertilizer is that it is produced using the resources which are locally available.

On his part, Chairperson of the club Paul Knix expressed optimistic that the production of such type of fertilizers with high quality will still sustain the program of helping the needy students at the school.

Meanwhile, the school's Club Secretary, Vannesa Blazzio, a form 3 student at the school said that students are delighted at the initiative benefits both the students as well as the community at large.

The newly recruited Teachers under IPTE 14-17 Cohorts in Blantyre Urban are demanding answers for their unpaid salaries for the month of September this year.

The teachers are currently gathered at Blantyre Urban DEM offices where they want answers from the authorities on their petition.

They attribute that most of the councils, received their September perks and it is only them who are yet to get theirs and as well no communication was made to them for the delays.
