I heard rumours that maize is going at Mk40,000. This is good development yes. But my plea is that Government should put a floor and ceiling prices. This will help both consumers and suppliers. If the maize price can go as lower as Mk35,000 then there will be a total downturn and negative profits for those who invested in maize production.

Balanced market elasticity is greatly needed since we experienced higher resource prices that made production costly.

As we think of consumer satisfaction, let's also consider the supplier who struggled with factors of production.
