There’s been confusion about the WAFCON Group C, so here is the simple truth.
Results so far:
Malawi beat Nigeria 3-2
Nigeria beat Zambia 1-0
Malawi beat Egypt 3-1
Zambia beat Egypt 6-0
Now Nigeria, Zambia and Malawi can all finish on 6 points if Nigeria can beat Egypt,
CAF will NOT use overall goal difference first.
They will use head-to-head between the 3 tied teams:
1. Points
2. Goal difference
3. Goals scored
Egypt results do NOT matter unless everything is still tied.
Everything now depends on Zambia vs Malawi.
If Zambia wins by 1 goal (LOW scoring, like 1-0):
Zambia will be out.
Nigeria and Malawi qualify.
BUT
If Zambia wins by 1 goal difference with MANY goals (like 4-3):
Nigeria will be out.
Malawi and Zambia qualify.
If Zambia wins by 2 or more goals (like 2-0 or 3-1):
Malawi will be out.
Nigeria and Zambia qualify.
If Zambia draws or loses:
Zambia is out.
Malawi and Nigeria qualifies.
