Edwin Namalo Chunga, 65, from Kalira in the area of Traditional Authority Vuso Jere, Ntchisi District, is suffering from a growth affecting his eye.

Speaking to Times 360 Malawi today, Chunga said he had struggled to work and earn a living since the condition began when he was young. He explained that the growth causes him severe pain whenever he engages in strenuous work or walks long distances.

According to Chunga, although he previously underwent surgery and had his eye removed, the condition continues to cause him difficulties in various ways.

Chunga has appealed to well-wishers to assist him with money for surgery to remove the growth or provide start-up capital for a small business to help him meet his daily needs, including food and other necessities.
