*Things are Happening*
The recent announcement by the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Decentralisation on the release of funding for councillors' loans through the Local Government Finance Committee (LGFC) and youth and women loans through the Malawi Enterprise Development Fund (MEDEF) is a clear demonstration that commitments are being translated into action.
What's noteworthy is not only the release of the funds, but also how transparent the process has been communicated. Rather than leaving citizens to speculate, the Ministry has openly informed the public about the availability of the funds and the procedures that will guide their disbursement.
This reflects the steady and meticulous stewardship of Honourable Joseph Mathyola Mwanamvekha, whose leadership at the Ministry of Finance continues to prioritise fiscal discipline, accountability, and service delivery. Under his careful management, government is demonstrating that public resources can be mobilised and directed towards empowering citizens, especially women, youth, and local government leaders.
This progress is taking place under the leadership of His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, whose administration remains committed to economic empowerment, transparency, and inclusive development.
The Democratic Progressive Party-led government has consistently shown that development is not about slogans but about creating opportunities that improve people's lives.
Many doubted. Many questioned. Yet the evidence continues to emerge: things are happening. And importantly, they are happening in a transparent, orderly, and accountable manner for the benefit of Malawians.
*The Work Continues!*
