Uganda has temporarily closed its border with the Democratic Republic of Congo for four weeks in a move aimed at limiting the spread of Ebola virus disease(EVD), authorities have confirmed.
The restriction applies to non-essential travellers, while health workers and other authorized cross-border movements remain exempt.
The measure was announced through an official update shared by the ministry of health's PS Dr. Dianah Atwine, stating that the closure is intended to manage health risks linked to cross-border movement.
