SIMSO Mzuzu 12 League: Final 8 Teams Confirmed for Last Phase

The SIMSO Mzuzu 12 league has reached its exciting conclusion, with eight teams officially qualifying for the last 8 phase. The qualified teams, representing their respective clusters, have been confirmed.

In Cluster A, Chilumba Barracks and Songwe Border United have secured their spots, while Cluster B will be represented by Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy and L**e Masters. Chintheche United and Eagle Strikers have emerged from Cluster C, and Cluster D will feature Raiply FC and Jenda United.

Euthini Veterans, however, face an uphill battle to join the top 8 teams. They require an 8-goal margin in their final match against Jenda United tomorrow at Euthini Community Ground, a daunting task that makes their qualification highly unlikely.

The final phase is set to kick off on September 7, 2024, marking the beginning of an intense competition among the qualified teams. As the teams prepare for the ultimate showdown, the question on everyone's mind is: who will be promoted to the elite league this year?

The Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) has announced that teams qualifying for the top 8 phase of the Simso-Mzuzu 12 Premier League will not be granted a break, citing potential fixture congestion due to upcoming tournaments.

Masiya Nyasulu, General Secretary of the NRFA, made this statement after the top 8 teams were officially known yesterday. He said the top 8 phase is set to commence next week, with a two week window allowed for teams to make eligible transfers and strengthen their squads.

Sports analyst Paly Chinyama has emphasized the importance of completing the league on schedule, allowing the qualified team sufficient time to prepare for participation in the elite league.

Chintheche United and Eagle Strikers from Cluster C, Chilumba Barracks and Songwe Boarder United from Cluster A, Ekwaiweni Tafika Academy and L**e Masters from Cluster B, Raiply and Jenda from Cluster D are teams that will battle it out for a slot in TNM Super league from Northern region.

NEWS!

M'mbelwa Warriors Football Club has attributed its inability to advance to the top 8 Phase of the SIMSO Northern Region Football Association Mzuzu12 Premier League to financial constraints and poor officiating.

This is according to Team Manager Mightwell Mtonga.

Despite a recent 4-0 victory over Euthini Veterans Football Club yesterday, Mtonga has expressed disappointment over the failure of a merger between Mzimba United and Mzimba Young Bullets for better resource mobilization and TNM Super League qualification due to lack of promised sponsorship.

Biased officiating by referees was also cited as detrimental to the team's performance.

The Warriors have earned 18 points from 12 Cluster D matches, winning 5, losing 4, and drawing 3, marking a challenging season for the club.
