A few days ago, I shared a video of Israel bombing an Iranian journalist live on air, a clear violation of international law and a war crime. Unfortunately, some Malawians living in Israel took issue with that I seemed to support Iran over Israel. They sent me foul messages, kunditukwana zichewa zodabwitsa. Apparently, they expected me to support Israel and I understand they created a WhatsApp group to insult me. Some Malawians in Israel, however, sent me decent messages and we had a decent conversation. I appreciate these types of people. As for the ones that sent foul messages, I think they are stupid fools and I did not bother to respond to them.
I am a student of history. History has always been my favourite subject since I was a young boy. I have read extensively on all these issues over the years that I can confidently say my outlook is far more informed than that of the average African man and Malawian.
In this post, I will endeavour to share my opinion on the Iran-Israel war by reflecting on the history of the Palestine-Israel conflict. But before I do so, allow me to apologise to the Malawians working in Israel who felt I was wishing them death, and that my posts would scare their parents back home who follow my page. I genuinely understand your concerns. However, take note that Malawians are scattered across the world. There are some in Iran, Ukraine, Congo, Russia as well- all these countries are at war. So you are not special because you are in Israel and my posts are not about you. Let that sink in. I have been writing about this conflict for years before you went to work in the Israeli farms. In fact, if you dig, you will find posts on this page from 2018 commenting on the Palestine-Israel conflict.
